New York Times: At 79, Biden Is Testing The Boundaries of Age and the Presidency

The New York Times couldn’t be more clear that liberals are dumping Joe Biden.

New York Times:

“WASHINGTON — When President Biden leaves Tuesday night for a four-day swing through the Middle East, he will presumably be more rested than he would have been had he followed the original plan.

The trip was initially tacked onto another journey last month to Europe, which would have made for an arduous 10-day overseas trek until it became clear to Mr. Biden’s team that such extended travel might be unnecessarily taxing for a 79-year-old president, or “crazy,” as one official put it.

Aides also cited political and diplomatic reasons to reorganize the extra stops as a separate trip weeks later. But the reality is that managing the schedule of the oldest president in American history presents distinct challenges. And as Mr. Biden insists he plans to run for a second term, his age has increasingly become an uncomfortable issue for him, his team and his party.Just a year and a half into his first term, Mr. Biden is already more than a year older than Ronald Reagan was at the end of two terms. If he mounts another campaign in 2024, Mr. Biden would be asking the country to elect a leader who would be 86 at the end of his tenure, testing the outer boundaries of age and the presidency. Polls show many Americans consider Mr. Biden too old, and some Democratic strategists do not think he should run again.

It is, unsurprisingly, a sensitive topic in the West Wing. In interviews, some sanctioned by the White House and some not, more than a dozen current and former senior officials and advisers uniformly reported that Mr. Biden remained intellectually engaged, asking smart questions at meetings, grilling aides on points of dispute, calling them late at night, picking out that weak point on Page 14 of a memo and rewriting speeches like his abortion remarks on Friday right up until the last minute.

But they acknowledged Mr. Biden looks older than just a few years ago, a political liability that cannot be solved by traditional White House stratagems like staff shake-ups or new communications plans. His energy level, while impressive for a man of his age, is not what it was, and some aides quietly watch out for him. He often shuffles when he walks, and aides worry he will trip on a wire. He stumbles over words during public events, and they hold their breath to see if he makes it to the end without a gaffe. …”

E tu, Chuck Todd?

The rats are abandoning a sinking ship.

Note: Joe still has Richard Spencer though!

  1. 80 is the age when many families start taking about taking the car keys away from grandpa.
I grant that old people who are actively engaged in life and activities tend to hold it together a bit longer, but we’re talking about working crossword puzzles and playing checkers with grandchildren, not being the head of state.

  2. And now think about that other guy now in his latter seventies.

It’s why I predicted as early as March of last year that he won’t run, because Father Time is gonna catch up with him. In order from most to least likely: (1) Plain ole runs out of energy, (2) Suffers a debilitating but short of fatal major medical event, (3) The unmentionable.

    • My daddy is 90. He is as sharp as a tack and plowing fields in 95 degree temps in Alabama right now.
Some folks wear out quicker than others.

      • Yep. We just saw a clown go down across the pond. Don’t be surprised if Joey Shitpants is replaced after the upcoming “most important erection evaaah” returns the repukes to “control” of the fake-legislature.

  3. Joe, or rather his handlers, still have the POWER. And will have it until at least January, 2025. We don’t hear anything about “stopping the steal” anymore do we?

    • Presidents never have power anyways, their existence is to be a convenient scapegoat akin to Monarchs in a Constitutional Monarchy.

    • The time to stop the steal was the 4 years Trump had to prepare the militia. Had the militia been prepared, they wouldn’t have dared to do it.

Trump is a politician from The End of History, unfortunately for him / us – history never ends.

  4. Turning on each other is not a sign of healthy regime. Those recent messages are not addressed to Joe but to the people behind him.

Brats are not happy. with The Swamp. At some point The Swamp must deliver something more than red meat.

  5. It’s fitting that Biden is president because he is emblematic/representative of the Wash DC gerontocracy.

And Biden was too old and clearly cognitively impaired in 2020 — but the NYT didn’t care; it was an integral part of the system that installed him.

… but his age has become an uncomfortable issue for him and his party.

Meaning as a figurehead he has shortcomings — the people behind him, the ones really running (or ruining if you prefer) the country, would prefer a more attractive figurehead (e.g. Obama) — yeah, that’s some brilliant analysis by the NYT.

    Another journofag.

  6. Yes, he too old and senile but he is not the one making the decisions. He can barely make a coherent speech.

      • Look for his wrinkled ass to get the boot after the mid-terms in November. If State propaganda organs i.e. NYT, WP, MSNBC etc. are talking/writing this way now after covering up his decline since 2020 they are now signaling that it’s time to go, Dementia Joe. He can go the easy way (resign because of ‘ill health’) or the hard way (Hunter gets indicted) but the die is cast, out he goes.

Cackling Kamala should be good for a few laughs as the country comes apart at the seams. She will have to be sworn in as the next Mr. President, she is nominally VP. Perhaps she can pick that bitch Hillary as her VP although that guarantees an “accident” happens to Pres. Cackling Kamala.

We ain’t voting our way out of this, it’s way too late for that.

  7. There is a minimum age to be President, but there should also be a maximum age as well. Remember how Reagan got at the end? I’m not sure if he even knew where was anymore.

I always though that they’d use Biden to get into the White House and then drop him out due to age and put in Kamala. However I think they found out that’s a non-starter because she’s disliked even more than Biden.

  8. Pay attention to groups like the Bilderbergers. Before Obama was even known nationally, he was the guest of honor at one of their events. I would rather DeSantis than Trump as he can get things done. With Trump its always bark, bark, bark, growl, growl, growl….no bite! He drains the swamp and then rescues the swamp critters and put them in his administration. Should Trump win will be bring Ivanka and Jared Kusher along again?

  9. Go to Youtube and type in “Biden and Corn Pop animated” and, separately, for another very short vid, “Biden America in One Word”. It will make your day!

  10. Although there are exceptions, at 79 most men are unfit to be president. The thing about Joe Biden is that he was never fit. He was always a classless, dimwitted, thoroughly corrupt scoundrel. Senility is just the icing on the cake.

Somehow every Western country ends up with the worst of the worst in charge.
