SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday issued an emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque and the surrounding county for at least 30 days in response to a spate of gun violence.

The Democratic governor said she expects legal challenges but was compelled to act because of recent shootings, including the death of an 11-year-old boy outside a minor league baseball stadium this week. …

In retrospect, I think “The Collapse” probably began several years ago.

COVID and the George Floyd riots was the inflection point. It emboldened these people. They haven’t been the same since that power trip. They are testing their limits every day now.

      • Suspending 2A rights in a crime ridden city like Albuquerque is an attack on law abiding citizens. What I can’t figure out is if this ***** is genuinely a naive fart sniffing shitlib or being truly nefarious and putting law abiding people in legitimate danger.

    Allow non-whites to have guns and murder rates soar sky high.
    Then attempt to restrain violence by taking away legal rights, then more crime as criminals ignore the law.

    All of this becomes a death spiral as civilization devolves to violent chaos.

    It’s very uneven , not effecting all areas at an even rate.
    For Detroit the collapse began 50+ years ago and these social cancers have spread, but fedzog mitigates the effects by taxing resources away from the productive and giving it to the destructive POC ie welfare, public housing etc.

    Coney island went from a vacation getaway to dangerous slums by public housing complexes created in the 60s by ((( Robert Moses))). One of thousands of examples.

    Much of the collapse has been under the radar of joe average, but is now spreading nationally. People think they can evade the effects of social suicide by moving, but that’s just a temporary fix because this social cancer grows exponentially as it spreads.

    You’re right, an inflection point, when the social cancer metastasizes.

  11. Our side should consider flipping this issue and do Guliani, Chiefs Bratton and Kelly “Stop and Frisk” of known (Black and Latino) gang members, also do broken windows policing.

    I’m fine with all kind of controls, restrictions with liberal sounding names that are not that. Things like

    Birth Control
    Environmentalist controls – POC are usually very bad at recycling.
    Immigration control

    Anybody reading OD that thinks we don’t need any immigration controls from places like Haiti, Congo, Somalia, Pakistan all those “stan countries” and let all these 3rd world POC arrivals get whatever guns they want, that’s just retarded but…

    As we learned last week on OD comments, lots of White Americans still fall for patriotard nonsense.

  15. This is just like those black community activists that demand a x number of days moratorium on crime and violence. Then what? They can go back to crime and violence on day x + 1? Why limit it to x number of days? Why not make it indefinite? And if the community activist had that kind of power to be able to stop violence just by requesting a moratorium, could the same community activist be sued or prosecuted for the violence that happened because he or she did not call for a moratorium in the past?

    Same reasoning can be asked of and directed at Grisham.

    But we all know what it’s about. In both the case of Grisham and the community activist, it’s attention seeking.
