The problem with using that word solely is the widespread use of it by people ranging from Jews and Middle Easterners, to Hindus and Iranians, to Latinos and Turks. Unlike you I believe class exists not artificially to oppress other classes but as a function of evolutionary development. Some families, clans, ethnicities, nationalities, and races rise and move among those classes to one degree or another. All Marxists like yourself believe classes are unnatural and exploitive. In contrast, history shows it is both natural and beneficial. In fact, in all Aryan societies, both Indo-European and Indo-Aryan, class is established by both fact, law, and divinity.
Traditionally, it is divided between Clergy, Nobility, and Commons. It pre-exists the industrial age, pre-exists even the agricultural age, and appears as far back as Neolithic times.

Yet they too could defend themselves in battle, and were expected to labor at times on behalf of society. The Commons must work, but they receive charitable action from the clergy and protection from the nobility.
