It has been a huge news day.

1. Elon Musk has endorsed Trump and committed to spending $45 million a month on a pro-Trump Super PAC.

2. J.D. Vance has been revealed as Donald Trump’s VP pick.

3. A federal judge threw out the classified documents case which was widely considered the biggest lawfare threat to Trump.

My take on the Vance pick is that nearly every elected official in the GOP is somehow worse. He is a mixed bag. Trump could have chosen someone a lot worse like Tim Scott. The choice highlighted the fact that Trump has no obvious successor and how weak MAGA is even in Congress. Overall, I think Vance is an upgrade from Pence. I definitely have a lot more common politically with Vance.

I was surprised that Trump choose Vance. I assumed that he would choose someone who could have helped him win this election. He could have chosen Marco Rubio to appeal to Hispanics or Tim Scott to appeal to blacks. He could have chosen Doug Burgum to fire up the donor class. He could have chosen Nikki Haley to appeal to suburban women or Glenn Youngkin to appeal to Purple State moderates. I do not buy into the spin that Trump thinks Vance could help him win the Rust Belt.

I agree with Damon Linker that the Vance pick is about securing Trump’s ideological legacy. Donald Trump has no successor and his choice for VP will be the best positioned to inherit his movement. Assuming he wins the 2024 election, Trump will be a lame duck after the 2026 midterms. The 2028 presidential race and likely the post-Trump era begins in two years. J.D. Vance is nearly alone in sitting on the MAGA bench. Kari Lake, Dr. Oz, Herschel Walker, Blake Masters and others all lost their races.

Vance is the VP pick because he won it by default. It could have been a lot worse. We could be sitting here talking tonight about Trump-Tim Scott or Trump-Dr. Oz or Trump-Boebert. Vance is far from an ideal VP pick, but he is one of the better options. Mike Johnson is the typical congressional Republican.

Note: Thomas Massie is the only Republican congressman who doesn’t have an AIPAC babysitter. There are no anti-Zionist elected Republicans to choose from.

    Trump is no fan of EVs.
    Elon is making these massive donations to make sure those federal subsidies keep flowing to support his EV business, otherwise it will most likely collapse. Also, he wants to make sure those high tariffs on Chinese EVs continue. Musk never gave massive support to trump until it looked like he was a sure bet.

        But if you are personally pleased with how the system works for you, because you happen to be well “positioned” in it (if you are comfortably bourgeois, upper middle class) then you probably want to ignore the victims and crimes of the system and instead focus your attention on “Trump versus Biden,” and participate in the so-called “elections” and pretend that the private profit system is essentially good, or that it can be reformed by “populism.”

        • Vance converted to papism. Born and raised Prot (probably some kind of Calvinist sect – or maybe the snake-handlers). Since the RCC has been apostate since 1965, I think papist is a perfectly acceptable term for it. You apparently have zero idea of what Vatican II was really about. Way more than changing to the vernacular for the liturgy (homilies have been in vernacular for a long time). The big deal with Vatican II is something a Mason would like very much. Both Talmudism and Islam were elevated to equal paths to salvation.   3. I hoped he’d pick Tulsi Gabbard. She genuinely seems like an independent Democrat, her sensibilities are more in line with Trump’s than anyone else in the wretched Boomer GOP, and she probably would have picked off the same suburban women Nikki Haley did.

          • No, Kentucky has had Catholics for a long time, the constant references to “Ellis Island” comment is very NYC-Jew-Italian centric. Many Catholics came in through the port of New Orleans and settled along the Mississippi and its tributaries.

            The Cathedral of St. Joseph in Bardstown has held mass since 1819, and has many paintings by Van Dyke, Van Eyck, given by King Louis Philippe of France.

            Kentucky is full of ratty towns, especially outside the areas where there are numerous Catholics, such as Rep. Massie’s district. Trad Catholics helped support Massie’s early political career.

            Hope that doesn’t rankle your Jew Trump supporting compadres too much.

            My French paternal side composed the second settlement of the country after the War of 1812. The Pre-WBTS immigrants constructed small towns all over the Midwest where the Catholic Church built a school that was open to the public and the residents sent their children who were educated by nuns from kindergarten until they graduated in their senior year. My father was one of them.

            French was spoken in their homes and the purpose of these schools was to transition the children to become fluent in learning and speaking English. You may assume that these towns are full of dumb hicks, but Catholic education is far superior than what is made available through pubic skools.

            Yes, students are required to attend mass as part of the curriculum when they attend a Catholic school, regardless of their religious or irreligious affiliations. Some interesting trivia, when the child of a friend of mine attended Bishop Gorman Catholic school in Nevada, two of their prom queens were the daughters of Jewish casino owner, Steve Wynn.

            It’s really too bad that every Christian denomination didn’t use their tithes and donations to build high quality schools pushing advanced education for the children of their own parishioners instead of sending money to Africa or creating CUFI (Christians United For Israel) programs like that grossly fat POS, John Hagee, with his private jet, oversized silk suits and private jets.

            That way the Protestants could have the Ten Commandments posted on their classroom walls without organizations like the ACLU, the SPLC, the ADL and other “secular” organizations suing their schools to take them down, lest they offend other religions.

            There are many ways to do very dangerous things under the cover of innocuous sounding organizations.       Your point is based on a false assumption. Namely that Butler and Pennsylvania is mostly Redneck hillbillies. Like most of Pennsylvania, Butler county was originally a hillbilly redneck old American stomping ground. But, the county and the State have seen better days.

      The TV views shown to the world of the snipers at the Trump rally, appear to have been that of local PD, not SS, the later of which remains predominantly WASP. Still, the ones pictured did kind of look like old school Redneck types. I am betting that if local PD, they are likely Irish and Germans Papists given the demographics of the area.       The Appalachian cops come in all types and sizes of competence and professionalism. When they do come sub par, its more to do with lack of serious crime breeding complacency, and low resources that breeds lack of professional ability.

That made them second to none regarding fighting, policing, or even criminality.           Having done Protective Security and Intelligence for VIPs including the principle of this discussion, let me respond to the video in general.

          Local police are usually never used as Personal Security Detail (PSD) which would include Counter Assault and Counter Sniper Teams, Body Guards (The guys all in black ill-fitting suits, with black sunglasses, who covered the President). Instead, locals are used for entry/exit control, traffic control, observation and search, etc. This little township and county certainly didn’t have the resources to be a major part of the PSD. But apparentelly they and/or State police did have some personnel involved tasked to the Counter Sniper Team (CST).

          Still, I am perplexed by the extremely small number of peronnel that was involved in the overall event security. This means the accounts of reducing the SS detail starting after the search at Mar-O-Lago are true. Nonetheless, it could’ve been beefed up by Private Military Contractors, local and state, etc. That would’ve been a decision chiefly by the Director SS. She didn’t do it regardless. Thats where the blame goes. The locals simply lack authority in these situations. The buck stops with the Director of SS not with the Locals.

          That makes sense. Its possible that SS will ask for additional support by appointing locals to be integrated into the PSD. Indeed, as mentioned oreviously, there appears to be some sort of State or Local PD personnel that were one of the CST. But, if that is the case, they were then integrated into the overall SS PSD. They weren’t tasked as a separate CST reporting to the local or state police departments. There would be no tasking the locals to add additional coverage of the building in question, separate from the SS PSD. Unless, there was a deliberate attempt to complicate SS PSD coverage, by indeed creating a separate attached PSD unit made up of locals, and specifically regarding the coverage of the building. That would be breaking all SOP and security protocols. What remains is this building in question. Why wasnt it adequately covered?

          We do know there were local police in the building. They were there both for additional observation of the rear of the crowd (facing toward and around the Trump rally) and a central holding point for the local PD to retire, hold equipment, etc. I have gotten contradicting reports on whether there windows or not in the building. Regardless, the building is clearly within the Range Finder Card/Sketch and Grid Location Sketch that any sniper/scout would use and within the Security bubble of the SS PSD.

          Having been trained in these individuals tasks and drills, been involved in PSDs, and been the Site Host (Civilian counterpart to the Site Security Agent of SS) to Trump rallies, and seen the views of the rally, its likely that coverage of the building by the CST wasnt easy. The closest team had both foliage and an over height restricting their ability to see. The “scopes” on the rifles are quite amazing but they have to be constantly focused and refocused, especially given the likely sector of fire assigned to the CST unit we see recorded which wss closest to the threat. Often the CST shooter and spotter partner will alternate views of specific grid coordinates like the threat building or further away grid coordinates to attempt a full coverage. But again, this building was so close, it probably lay just under their sector of fire and scopes.

          That would mean, the other CST unit which was further away had the building in their sector of fire. That unit in turn had other grid squares walking back closer to their position they also had to handle. In turn, its likely that unit couldn’t see over the lip of the top of the building and/or wasnt being coordinated well with its sister CST unit that we have all seen recorded. You will notice that at one point the recorded CST unit, takes their eyes of the scope (looking with eyes in the closer building), refocusing their eyes on the scope (readjusting mafnification). All the while they are hearing communication bursts about what is happening on the roof with the threat, commands from the Site Security Agent HQ, and from their sister CST unit about who can see what. In the end, the placing of these CST, and their sectors of fire, and the coverage of the building are the responsibility of the Site Security Agent.

          In turn, the Site Security Agent handles all the various components which include local and state police departments, the various elements of the SS Detail, as well as civilian ushers, traffic and entry/exit controllers, etc. Each of those elements have their own communication frequency. Along with other group frequencies that group other elements together into a single control unit, and finally an entire band frequency. Communication is all going on at that time, the monitoring of which is the responsibility of the Site Security Agent. It’s his responsibility to coordinate all these parts, develop the security plan, visit the site before hand, walking thru the site with the advance team and other third party units and departments, develop the grid building coordinate, etc. At the end of the day, this eff up starts there with the Site Security Agent.

          Yes, they had extremely little time to set this up.

          Again, its not the duty of the Local PD to secure or man a building. That is the duty of the SS. If the building doesn’t have someone manning it, then its on the SS to ensure its manned. Its the job of the SS Site Agent to review all his threat and vulnerabilities to see they are covered. This building wasnt covered either before or during the rally. Thats on the SS Site agent, regardless of whether or not he received info from locals that they couldn’t cover the building even if such a breach of protocol and SOP was ordered.

          Thats SOP. The entire Security Plan, much of which is classified is not shared except on a need to know basis. The township was probably referencing that security plan. Its possible even probably, the local township had their own security plan that they developed on tasks from SS.

          While its possible that the SS Site Agent had directed, confirmed, and did use local PD to stand or man that building, and then at some point local PD disappeared, thereby creating an opening for the assassin to move in, that info hasn’t come out yet. So, far, it looks like the SS Securiry Agent and PSD team screwed up on covering that building at worst, or like the preceding conspiracy possibility, deliberately left the building open. So, the question should be, why was their no coverage on that building. Note, it appears, that under the circumstances, the SS CST reacted correctly.

I didn’t grow up around such remarks; and even if they weren’t vicious, I, as no figure of sophistication myself, would be un-entitled to make them. My comments re Knights, the township manager there, in western Pennsylvania, are off target in the sense that his inability to handle the situation properly isn’t really a manifestation of incompetence on his part. It’s a manifestation of the American De-organizing that’s been going on since the Lyndon Johnson presidency. As our fellow commentator Clytemnestra has said, in this same comment section, American competence and morale have been undermined. The problems that arose there, with the security arrangements at that Pennsylvania fairground, aren’t isolated; they’re part of the entire Dis-organizing. It was, in a sense, literally impossible for Knights to pick up a phone and clarify the situation with the Secret Service. No government official anywhere in the U.S. at this point can even afford a proper telephone.

        • @ John: I think you’re jumping the gun here. Keep in mind that in any presidential event (or any event involving a dignitary under SS protection), the SS protocols always rule. Yes local police units are involved but they are ultimately under command of the SS – even outside the official perimeter set by the SS for each event. It was the SS who set up a perimeter for the Trump rally which left out the rooftop where Crooks took his shots from short range (400 feet), plus at least two other elevated spots where a sniper would easily be able to kill Trump (the roof of a Gym-Club and a Water Tower 500 yards from the platform). According to the former FBI sniper interviewed by Larry Johnson – who worked on numerous occasions with the SS – the standard protocols for an event like the Trump rally is that all elevated positions from which a sniper could take a shot have to be covered (occupied by SS or police) for at least 500 yards (not feet) from the potential target. The locals are under SS command in these events. The source of the catastrophic failure here was the SS, which is a division of DHS whose head of the obvious traitor Mayorkas (who the retarded Repuke party failed to impeach just days before the shooting).

The locals’ declaration that they didn’t have the resources for key security for an event like that was undoubtedly valid. What bothered me in that video was that the locals had apparently not taken the situation in hand, i.e., said to the Secret Service, look, we can’t help you here. We don’t have the men, the equipment. We can handle the traffic; that’s it. Fine, great, if that’s what the locals have to make clear to the Secret Service, all they had to do was make it clear. In that video, on the other hand, we’re told that all they did was send some kind of message to the Secret Service and—what? Showed up on rally day? That seems poor form to me. Obviously, it’s even worse form on the part of the Secret Service, who, apparently, couldn’t be bothered to develop and communicate any kind of plan for the event’s security. Anyway—my two cents, as they say.

        • There is Disorganizing or Deconstruction going on. In fact, “Deoconstruction” academics was a thing and still is in universities. In other words, Universities teach students how to deconstruct ideas, policies, plans, societies, etc. A good example are the generally overweight women, with their poney tails flying behind them, wandering around lije they don’t know what to do, and unable to holster their weapon. That’s the fault of the current SS Director, who demands a 30% female special agent SS force by 2030. To ensure that happens all SS Special agebt classes have been majority female for years now.     • The more you look at this attempt, the more it becomes obvious that this was at the very least an absolutely massive screw-up by the Secret Service and the local units who are to follow their directions and protocols in such situations. No way in hell a rooftop a mere 400 feet from the stand where Trump was speaking should have been left uncovered. The civilians in the audience informed SS of Crooks climbing onto the roof a full 26 minutes before the shots were fired.

      Even worse, the local police units were actually headquarted in the very building Crooks climbed onto. Not only this one, but two other structure where a sniper would have a good shot were not manned or even guarded: 1) the roof of a gym club (closed weekends) that was 500 yards away; 2) a water tower – also 500 yards away. While 500 years is a lot farther out than 400 feet, it’s still well within range of any trained sniper properly equipped. Major security breach. Witness have already claimed there were shots from the water tower as well as those from Crooks.

        2. You must build a grid site coordinate sketch, range it, categorize it, number it, get your sites scoped in, work with the

        3. You are told which buildings are most concerning and which are the greatest threats and they tell you the water tower and woods in the distance.

        4. You are closed into a couple of freqs with your spotter #1, and together known as CST #1. Then you as a team are closed into a freq with CST #2 and individually with Sniper #2 and Spotter #2 and closed freqs with your opposite Spotter and Sniper #2 with your Spotter #1. You are all individually closed with Site Security Agent and your respect teams with Site Security Agent. Finally, you have a freq for the entire CST and CST + Site Security Agent. Lastly you get dialed into the freq with the rest of the teams and their groups. 

        5. You set up your positions according to the Site Security Agent plan, have all your gear, and its really hot so you bring extra hydration.

        You are all set in. For a couple hours you scan you sector, respond to potential threats, all eventually cleared. The big moment is getting going. The President walks on the stage. And it goes on…..

        Then, all of a sudden you hear chatter from Event Security about unknown individual setting up something near the woods.

    The media have pretty much driven the narrative that there is no future for young White working class men in this country, that aside from increasingly difficult chances for promotion, the only option is the military for them if they want to at least get their college expenses paid.

    JD Vance himself pretty much followed that path, but used his VA Benefits to graduate from Ohio State University and then graduate from Yale. Harvard and Yale contribute the vast majority of members to the ranks of the elite.

    Vance’s Indian wife is not going to matter that much to the base that Trump is trying to woo this time. He must have someone on his team that managed to convince him that what cost him his election was listening to Jared Kushner’s derogatory comment that he has the Trailer Park vote in his pocket and where else are they going to go.

    A lot of the White working class have relatives who came home with Asian wives or who have intermarried with Mestizos.
