No you got this mixed up. Papists are attracted to Fascism and Nazism because both were rooted in the culture of World Popery. Christian Nationalism has its roots in Christian Democracy which itself was formed in Germany, Netherlands, and Scandinavia by Protestants. Contradistinctly, National Socialism has its roots in German Catholicism. The politico-religious war waged by the Papacy was to usurp the Christian Democracy movement as its own and/or destroy the Protestant leadership of it.
In Germany and later other counties, the Papacy tried to establish a competing Catholic movement which become Catholic Social Democracy. To be honest, the Papacy eventually created a more holistic and integrative philosophy which allowed for the sub creation of things like Guild Socialism and Distributism. Protestants helped create these as well but were not as philosophically sophisticated as the Catholics.
As a result, in Germany, the Christian Democrats (Prods) and Catholic Social Union (Papists) united to form the Christian Democratic Union to face the corruption and dissolution caused by Mass Industrial Capitalism. This also spread to partially Catholic Netherland, then Belgium and even Scandinavia just in time to face the twin threats of International Socialism and National Socialism. In the end the later became highly attractive to Papists, which has always made me question its use to destroy Protestant Christian Democracy.

Interesting suggestion here about Goebbels and Hitler. Although I doubt they had to forcibly conscript Germans to go to such spectacular events as the Nuremberg Rallies. I think you might be conflating this to when the conscripted Austrians to line roadways yelling for Nazis and Hitler when he road down the highway to Vienna or similar such events.
I’ve always understood Hitler to ha e been an engaging speaker. Speaking of which, the English translations using AI voice over for Hitler Speeches which was something I promoted awhile back, did little to improve any admiration I had for him. It did however show why his speeches were so well received by the Germans and the later weren’t stupid dullheads for liking him.
