I don’t much to say about Pope Leo XIV.
I’m expecting more of the same that we got from Pope Francis. Is there any reason to believe the church will move in a more traditionalist direction? I have heard Prevost is more of a progressive.
I know some people had problems with some of the things that Pope Francis said. He wasn’t my favorite pope ever. But keep in mind that Pope Francis:
*affirmed that abortion was murder and a grave sin.
*opposed the trans movement and described it as the ugliest danger of our time
*described homosexuality as intrinsically disordered
*insisted that the Church could not ordained women

Pretty sad to see images of people crying tears of joy over the announcement of a new religious figurehead/charlatan.

I think he will be like Pope Francis, Steve Bannon says that he’s anti Trump, some news wrote that he voted for Republicans in past elections. I don’t have an opinion about this man.

That is absolute heresy. The anti-Catholic bias and hatred in these comments is a big turnoff.
The real antichrist, as the apostle John said, is he who denies that Jesus is God in the flesh. None of the popes have done that, to my knowledge. But Martin Luther King, the Jews, and every gnostic theologian is an antichrist.
The Catholic channels (more trad leaning) I follow are not enthusiastic. They’re putting on a happy face for now, guarded comments, hoping for the best I suppose. I doubt he’ll be a loose cannon like Bergoglio, with his doctrinally questionable off the cuff remarks. On the issues this site cares about, I’d expect more of the same anti-borders, pro-“refugees” blather.

Dolton is a far south side Chicago suburb, very close to the Indiana border. A good college friend of mine grew up in Dolton and I visited him one time at his (parents’) home while we were on college break and stayed the night. This was in the mid-70’s. It was a very nice and safe suburb of modest, neatly kept middle class homes, needless to say all white. Many or most of the people who lived there worked in the steel mills – labor, engineers and management. The video above gives you an idea what it’s like now.

What I see from anti-Catholics in these comments is harsh accusations based on nothing in particular. If Pope Leo were pushing for women to be priests or deacons then you would have a point. But as it is, you do not.

Off-topic probably banned, but Fat Margie Greene of Georgia has someone intelligent advising her, judging by her announcement, posted on X, that she will not run for the Senate in Georgia. She gives a bogus reason for not running, quite transparent that she knows the Georgia Republican primaries are all rigged, and there is no way around that.
The interesting part is she mentions her 11 million person mailing list of supporters nationwide, which she calls the largest of any Republican in the country. That is a hint of Presidential ambitions.
From this point forward she better have world class bodyguards. Some more or less like Erik Prince’s guys, who are the best.
Pope wants a genuine and just peace in Ukraine. That means conditional on a fair deal. That is fairness at the cost of innocent life. Christ got a trial and was convicted by a jury of his peers….so what if it was in the middle of the night, he was blindfolded and beaten and said little or nothing in his own defense….so what? Fair is fair. Right pope?

Read Vatican II in detail. It does not come out and explicitly deny Christ as God but it does so in an oblique way by stating that Jews (the Synagogue of Satan) and Muslims have a kind of ‘back-door’ to salvation, hence the end of evangelization efforts directed at both. (They also provide nice young fresh-meat for the RCC lavender-mafia hierarchy. Barnhardt admits Vatican II was “an asteroid which hit the church” but fails to comprehend just how evil it really is. Any pope who fails to repudiate it is likely an anti-pope. The old sedevacantists probably have figured this one out correctly.
