In spite of Trump, I am looking forward to celebrating July the 4th. It is time to grill and chill, enjoy those long summer days and build some good memories.

We have a lot to be grateful for this year. Trump is now a lame duck president who is polling worse than Herbert Hoover on the economy. Gas prices are coming down. We are only a few months away from MAGA being swept out of power in Congress. Trump is about to be flushed out of our national life where he has occupied the center stage for over a decade now. This nightmare will be behind us soon.

  1. The Conservitards and Fox News scratch their fat, hairy asses and lament the growing popularity of ‘Socialism’. Socialism is simply the natural societal reaction to the growing chasm between rich and poor. What’s some broke-a**ed Gen Z kid supposed to think when some dorky government leech like Musk becomes the world’s first Trillionaire thanks to the Jews’ Magic Wall St Money Machine or Donny gets $90B from Congress to pay for his “war” with Iran.

    • The affordability crisis is a direct result of dollar devaluation – far too many greenbacks created out of thin air to fund Iraq/Afghan wars, COVID, welfare spending, etc. Wages have not kept pace and they simply cannot.

        The reality is inflation is largely caused by rich people jacking up the prices of things, simply because they can, because they’re greedy, and paying workers as little as possible.
        The economy is doing great, if you’re a creditor/employer/landlord, they’ve been making a killing for decades thanks to deregulation and lower taxes at the expense of debtors/employees/tenants.

        Welfare?
        There’s far less welfare and social spending in general today than there was in the mid 20th century, thanks to decades of fiscal conservatism embraced by both the right and liberals alike beginning with the Clinton admin.

        That said, a guy from a multimillionaire family like Mamdani and his endorsements probably won’t do much if anything to fix things, he’ll probably be another AOC, a sellout.
        He’s a democrat and produced by the same institutions ‘the (fraud) squad’ was produced by.
        He also has the backing of a couple billionaires even if most apparently opposed him.

        Ultimately government and ‘our’ institutions in general are largely controlled by the ruling class, for better or worse they would never allow a true socialist revolution to occur without bloodshed and/or mass strikes, but they may permit a little bit more redistribution, just enough to keep the masses on board, we’ll see.

        Ultimately I think the leftwing populists seeking socialism and an end to imperialism who vote for guys like Mamdani will be about as disappointed as the rightwing populists seeking protectionism and also an end to imperialism who voted for guys like Trump.

        Also of note, corporate subsidies and welfare doesn’t help the working poor and small business owners either of course, and there’s been plenty of that from both libs and cons.
        Corporate spending vastly outweighs and social spending.

        • I also want to say that I’m not saying socialism is good and capitalism bad, just that it’s an alternative, it has its pros and cons, but ultimately, every large scale system produces essentially the same result; oligarchy.
          Even the best socialist system was still an oligarchy just as capitalism is.
          True equality is not something man has ever achieved long term and widespread.
          And by true equality, I don’t necessarily mean absolute equality (there’s no such thing), but fundamental equality, things have always turned out fundamentally oligarchic with vast, rigid socioeconomic and political inequities.
          Same as sustainability, it’s not something man has ever achieved in advanced civilizations for long periods of time.

    • The Federal Reserve makes it all possible with its Magic Money printing Machine. The first recipients of the money, the scumbags on Wall Street use it to enrich themselves with hard assets while the rest of the country suffers from inflation, taxes, poverty and diversity. When it goes bad like 1987, 2000 or the big one, 2008 the Fed is there to rescue their friends, that is its job.

      The losses get socialized on to the working public while the profits are privatized to the well connected. That’s our wonderful Democracy in action. There are only so many times they can go to the well though and the next Wall Street crash/bailout may just wreck the whole rotten system worse than 1930.

    • So far it’s sustained deliveries at approx. $70/barrel (WTI) for crude, retail gasoline below $4/gallon (except California of course) and No. 2 diesel below $5/gallon (except California of course). Cushing Okla. oil hub is running low on crude now and reports from Bloomberg and the loathsome WSJ are that the U.S. SPR is nearing emergency levels of reserves. These prices are sustainable only if the Strait of Hormuz remains open for traffic, no interruptions.

      If Trump’s foolish war against Iran restarts, closing the Strait of Hormuz again, destroying oil facilities and especially if the Houthis close access to the Red Sea, the sky is the limit for oil prices. The GloboHomo Empire cannot withstand high oil prices or high interest rates. The Fed will just print money to pay for everything thereby wrecking what is left of the USD’s purchasing power and cutting the legs out from under the GloboHomo Empire.
