District of Corruption
It was a memorable Halloween weekend.
Led by millionaires Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central, Blue America paraded around Washington in the highly anticipated “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.” The “Woodstock of the Millennials” drew a crowd of about 60,000 yuppies and hipsters on the National Mall. By most accounts, the crowd was a fraction of the size of Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in August.
“Restoring Sanity and/or Fear” started around 11 AM CST. I watched it for about five minutes on C-SPAN (Stephen Colbert was emerging from “The Fear Bunker” as Evel Knievel) before yawning and turning the channel to watch the Virginia vs. Miami game on ESPN. There were more people in Charlottesville on Saturday watching the Cavaliers than there were with those clowns in DC.
Sanity Ignored: The Mind of Red America
The most remarkable aspect of “Restoring Sanity” was that no one in Red America seemed to know (or care) that it was going on. In all the conversations I had yesterday, I can’t remember anyone bringing up the Jon Stewart rally. The Heartland was preoccupied with Halloween and its traditional pasttime.
So what was Red America doing yesterday?
In Iowa and Michigan, “Reds” were watching Ricky Stanzi and the Hawkeyes destroy Michigan State:
In Alabama and Mississippi, their eyes were fixated on Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers on the road against Ole Miss. The grey jerseys didn’t work for the “Rebel Black Bears,” but at least Admiral Ackbar wasn’t disgracing the field in Oxford.
In Georgia and Florida, Red America was watching the World’s Largest Cocktail Party in Jacksonville between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators (both teams have struggled this year), which Florida won in OT with a field goal.
In Missouri and Nebraska, the Heartland watched Mizzou (after its thrilling goal post tearing down triumph last week over the No.1 Oklahoma Sooners) fall to the Cornhuskers in Lincoln.
On the West Coast, the question on the mind of Red America was whether USC could upset the Oregon Ducks, and how many pushups would the Duck have to do before collapsing from exhaustion.
Some other popular thoughts in Red America:
– Is it humanly possible for Tennessee to get any worse?
– Auburn vs. Oregon in Arizona?
– Can Alabama run the table and go to the national championship?
– Will Boise State ever get the respect it deserves?
– How many laptops would Urban Meyer buy to get Cam Newton to put on a Florida Gators uniform again?
Was anyone in Middle America watching the hipster faggots with Stewart and Colbert at “Restoring Sanity and/or Fear” on a Saturday afternoon on C-SPAN (on a Halloween weekend) at 11 AM CST and 10 AM MST? Unlikely.
Alternatively, how many people in Red America do you think spent the afternoon watching college football, the evening grilling steaks and burgers, and the night getting drunk at sports bars and Halloween parties?
Generation Irony? Woodstock of Millennials?
“Restoring Sanity” should have discredited the idea that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert speak for Millennials. Of the “more than 200,000” who RSVPd on Facebook, 60,000 actually showed up.
There were 15,000 Auburn fans alone in Oxford last night. In total, there were more people at the Ole Miss game than there were on the National Mall; more in Charlottesville, Lincoln, Jacksonville, Iowa City, Columbia or just about anywhere you look in Red America.
The Reddit constituency is a small vocal minority.
Red America will be holding its own “Restoring Sanity” rally in what is almost certainly guaranteed to be a bloodbath for the Democratic Party in the Heartland.
An ugly picture emerges wherever you look: Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Indiana, Ohio, Alabama, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Virginia, Wisconsin. The only bright spots are Christine O’Donnell in Delaware, Joe Miller in Alaska, Carl Paladino in New York, and John Raese in West Virginia who have stumbled toward the finish line.
In Virginia, the Democratic Party is set to be decimated, as the state shifts colors from purple to crimson. The same looks to be true of Iowa and Ohio. Political analysts will be pouring over the midterm data for months. An interesting “national conversation” about the White vote and Red America should be going on by the middle of next week.
The “great unwashed middle of the country” will deliver its verdict tomorrow. Get your popcorn ready.
You mentioned something about it in one of your many comments about the “Center Left.” You have repeatedly described yourself as a leftist who is hostile to Christianity in the comments.
Aside from sports, I also like drinking and going out to bars (going out in Nashville was unremarkable, ask my Virginia roommates) … like other normal, socially adjusted people. Sue me!
That photo was taken in early June. That was five months ago. I’ve worked out six days a week without missing a single session since then. I was working out for months before confronting Imm in the streets.
So you can knock it off with the “fat” meme. That no longer holds. Where is your photo, badass?
You are against the people who are organizing and fighting on immigration. You want our friends in Congress to be defeated and our enemies to triumph. Effectively, there is no difference between you and Keith Olbermann. Your respective positions on most issues are identical.
That’s clearly not happening on your empty website.
I never said I liked the NBA or NFL. I have never watched a professional football or basketball game. I don’t like baseball either.

The main reason White Nationalism hasn’t taken off is that White Nationalists are so alienated from (and sometimes hostile toward) their target audience that they can’t even communicate with them and come across sounding like they are from Neptune.
As I stated, THAT is one explanation. But is it THE explanation?
I note that Barney Frank is quite the character that pretty much every person I have ever met feels “alienated from.” Barney Frank is a very powerful politician, and has been for many years.
Although I consider myself a WN and a staunch White Separatist, I don’t view every aspect of human life in a racial light. One of the reasons I prefer watching football and basketball over other sports is I played both, often against niggers who liked talking trash — White Boy this, White Boy that, what are ya gonna do White boy? Niggers think they can intimidate Whites just because they have Black skin and can run their mouth. No one will convince me that having young White men go head to head against Blacks and win in sports Blacks are supposed to dominate is anything but a positive. It’s time better spent than on Jew TV and video games, and young White girls flock to athletes. Meeting girls alone is enough reason to play football, hang out at sports bars, and go to football games, especially college games. You guys that don’t like Black football should try tailgating at an SEC school. You’ll reconsider fast unless you’re gay.
Lew, you might want to try having black friends start hanging out with you, dressing like a gang banger and listening to rap. Quite a number of white girls are into all that. After all, meeting girls along is enough reason.
Brutus, like I said it’s a matter of preference. I see value in sports you apparently don’t see. Reasonable people can disagree.
I wrote to the effect that I didn’t watch sports, I did not say I did not like playing them or that I found no value in them.
I went to college on a football scholarship, and years later, I and some of my friends actually did form a private team. I ran track, was on the wrestling team and played baseball. I also was on an adult softball league for several years.
But I have ever been the player, never the spectator.
Seriously, CT + others, if being negative and bashing Hunter and the majority on this website is all you do, why are you even here? You act like a drunk, retarded, redheaded stepchild. If you don’t have anything constructive to constribute, get the f*ck out of here. Hunter is way too nice when it comes to banning morons.
E.J. Dionne on Countdown with KO tonight gave a laundry list of items Dems might try to pass in the lame duck session after the election, including the DREAM Act.
Oops, wrong thread.
“I have found that taking an interest in college football has made my job easier. I can talk to anyone in Alabama about football, build a positive relationship with them, and then after getting to know them talk about other matters.”
Another take on that. There’s a lot of people who are very uncomfortable talking about politics. It goes back to the whole “never discuss politics or religion” thing. One way of working on people like that is guerilla tactics – hit and run. So you’re talking and something comes up that segues into one of your standard lines you always have ready ( 🙂 ) so you push your line and then immediately change the subject back again. You get the idea in their head and then back off before they get too uncomfortable.
For example, you’re having a drink with someone after work and a politician comes on the TV behind the bar and they say anything remotely to do with immigration or diversity that could work as a lead-in and you say something like “I hate that ****. If they believed this diversity stuff they wouldn’t all live in all-white gated communities where it’s nice and safe. They want immigration because [it’s more votes for them / they want to drive wages down](depending on which party they’re from) and all this diversity **** is just to bully people into keeping their mouth shut about it.”
The person you’re talking to will mumble something related to being uncomfortable talking about politics and you change the subject back to what you were talking about before.
You can only do that kind of thing if you’ve already immersed yourself with the people you’re trying to work on and know about the things they like to talk about socially.
Brutus, I can appreciate the argument for not being a spectator for Black sports, either because you don’t care for it, or because the last thing racially conscious White men should be doing is financially supporting Black sports and encouraging other Whites to do the same. That’s a compelling argument. But those considerations (IMO) have to be weighed against losing opportunities for peer influence, interacting with other Whites, and presenting a mainstream image which rebuts the WN stereotype — that we are all skinheads or hiding out in the mountains with guns. My crack about girls at SEC games was snarky, and for that I apologize. I just meant it’s a target rich environment for young White men who might want to show up for that reason even if they don’t like football.
I cought Beck this afternoon and he staged a little stunt at this rally with a camera crew filming a guy with a sign that read “Obama=Keynesian” as in the post war economist who advocated extreme defecit spending. The coffee bagger types Hunter calls SWPL (Single White Pot-smoking Liberals?) were all comming up to him acting all obnoxious and telling him that “It’s proven Barry was born in Honolulu.” Showing they don’t even know who John Maynard Keynes was. Interestingly enough, Beck is making some bizarre show claiming Soros is a self hating jew who is a secret anti-semite and anti-Israel. On the one hand, I have no idea of what such an incoherent production aims to accomplish with more of this “Obama-Moveon.org=Hitler” stuff. On the other hand, maybe the real reason of this is to out Soros to the general public as a jew, I bet very few ordinary Americans know that. If outing all these seemingly unrelated “crazy liberals” as ethnic jews all coniving together on a radical message, it might really shake the wool off the eyes of a significant minority of Americans and make them understand how such “fringe” philosophies have such big money and legal activism behind them.
Savage is on now, ripping Obama’s Mbutu-Marcos lifestyle with his upcomming $200 milllion PER DAY trip to India. Interesting enough, Obama displayed his irrelevency today by spending it on “Hip-Hop” radio stations trying to turn out the Ghetto Rats to the polls. Obama is looking more and more like just some run of the mill black mayor, rather than the “transcending” candidate white people imagined him to be in 2008.
“Obama=Keynesian” … SWPLs were all coming up to him acting all obnoxious and telling him that “It’s proven Barry was born in Honolulu.” Showing they don’t even know who John Maynard Keynes was.
That is pretty funny 😀
The SWPLs might make a great foil, since they basically have placed themselves out there on a political island populated literally in some cases by cannibals, and have followed the jewish pied pipers away from their race. Ironic though, since anything zionist is down there with ebola amongst them.
