High White Art on a Low Budget


William Rome has an excellent article here on O.D. promoting pro White fiction as the way to reach large audiences of White Americans, who are not part of a political/intellectual WN elite. Yes – mainstream White Americans go for the fantasy fiction books of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and others – and these pro White fantasy books promote good White values of honor, loyalty to kith and kin. The huge success of Peter Jackson’s the Lord of the Rings movies also shows that White audiences strongly support pro White fantasy movies.

But, as most everyone reading O.D. knows, Hollywood is not on our side. If once every couple of years a pro White fantasy movie like Lord of the Rings slips through the corrupt Hollywood system, that’s all we’re going to get and Hollywood executives get to keep most of the profits and pass on the profits to organizations like the SPLC, the ADL or fund the Obama, Rahm Emanuel campaigns.

But, the Internet has created some exciting openings for White movie artists to circumvent the corrupt Hollywood system.

I strongly recommend O.D. readers check out the free, Internet movie – The Hunt for Gollum. This movie was done pro bono by all the actors and film technicians, produced (can it be true) on a low budget of ~ $5,000! The Hunt for Gollum is a 40-minute movie, presenting another chapter in the Lord of the Rings, a “prequel” to the Fellowship of the Ring, presenting Gandalf and Aragorn’s attempt to find Gollum before he reveals the secret that Bilbo Baggins has the Ring of Power in the Shire. I think the Hunt for Gollum stands up well and is as good or even better than the Peter Jackson LOTR scenes. But, please – join the 5.5 million YouTube viewers who have watched the Hunt for Gollum on this YT channel and let’s work to promote many, many more pro White fantasy movies that are outside the corrupt, anti White Hollywood system.

    Yes, sadly I do see the Jew hand at YouTube censoring (my) nationalist videos, still lots of good stuff gets through. The thing I like about YouTube is that one can share shorter, edited videos and then open up the field to comments, something like O.D. and YouTube is mainstream, you’re not just preaching to the choir.

    In a not too subtle way, LOTR glorified white people (the elves- the “fairest” and most beautiful of the races of Middle Earth were white, many with blonde hair). This, combined with the fact that Hollywood and the PC media in general were PISSED about the all-white cast of the movies (in spite of the huge profits that it raked in) is enough to please me. CS Lewis was a Christian, and though his novels were directed mostly at a young audience, the values he espoused were decidedly in the camp of Western civilization. In that sense both authors were pro-white, or at least espoused traditional white (Western civ.) values.
    I personally couldn’t care less that Tolkien was a Catholic. What’s the big deal with his religion? Were it not for the Catholic church (which was THE original Christian Church until Marin Luther came along), Europe would have been overrun by Muslims centuries ago.

    An American academic, who teaches at the Warwick University in the United Kingdom, has described J R R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy as an ‘epic rooted in racism’.

    Dr Stephen Shapiro, an expert in cultural studies, race and slavery, said the author used his novels to present bigotry through a fantasy world.

    Following the release in UK of the film The Two Towers, the second in the series, Dr Shapiro told rediff.com that the books represent anxieties about immigration in mid-1950s Britain.

    He said: “Put simply, Tolkien’s good guys are white and the bad guys are black, slant-eyed, unattractive, inarticulate and a psychologically undeveloped horde.”

    In the trilogy, a small group, the fellowship, is pitted against a foreign horde and this reflects long-standing Anglo-European anxieties about being overwhelmed by non-Europeans, he said.

    This is consistent with Tolkien’s Nordicist convictions. He thinks the Northern races had a culture and it was carried in the blood, Dr Shapiro said.

    While Tolkien describes the Hobbits and Elves as amazingly white, ethnically pure clans, their antagonists, the Orcs, are a motley dark-skinned mass, akin to tribal Africans or aborigines. The recent films amplify a ‘fear of a black planet’ and exaggerate this difference by insisting on stark white-black colour codes, Dr Shapiro said.

    He added: “Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings because he wanted to recreate a mythology for the English, which had been destroyed by foreign invasion. He felt the Normans had destroyed organic English culture. There is the notion that foreigners destroy culture and there was also a fantasy that there was a solid homogeneous English culture there to begin with, which was not the case because there were Celts and Vikings and a host of other groups.

    “We have a pure village ideal, which is being threatened by new technologies and groups coming in. I think the film has picked up on this by colour coding the characters in very stark ways.

    “For instance, the fellowship is portrayed as uber-Aryan, very white and there is the notion that they are a vanishing group under the advent of the other, evil ethnic groups.

    “The Orcs are a black mass that doesn’t speak the languages and are desecrating the cathedrals.

    “For today’s film fans, this older racial anxiety fuses with a current fear and hatred of Islam that supports a crusading war in the Middle East. The mass appeal of The Lord of the Rings, and the recent movies may well rest on racist codes.”

    Dr Shapiro said that the trilogy, which began in the 1930s and published in the 1950s, was written at the onset of de-colonisation, when the first immigrants from the Caribbean and Indian subcontinent came to Britain. The Midlands, Tolkien’s model for the Shire, was becoming a multicultural region.

    A spokesman for Harper Collins, publisher of the trilogy, accused Dr Shapiro of mixing up his dates: “The copyright for The Fellowship of the Ring, the first in the series, was 1954. Tolkien would have finished writing the book quite a bit before the mid-50s and certainly the idea would have come a number of years before, given the sheer size of the book. So I think the timing is out.

    “A number of academics have commented on Tolkien’s work and this is the first time anybody has ever seen these issues in it. Of course, if you look hard enough at many great epics, you can extrapolate what you like, particularly if you have academic kudos behind you.

    “A number of people have said that they think The Lord of the Rings could be an allegory for the Second World War, or indeed the first, as Tolkien fought in it, but it was never a view that he agreed with. His great abiding passion and interest came from the Icelandic sagas and mythology, and this was his version of one of those sagas.”

    Richard Crawshaw, a trustee for the Tolkien Society, said: “There was definitely no racial intent in his work. He detested racism.”

    One of the biggest Welsh movie stars in Hollywood kicked off a race storm last night after making anti-Muslim remarks.

    Outraged Islamic leaders in Wales demanded an immediate apology from Lord Of The Rings actor John Rhys-Davies, who claimed an increase in Europe’s Muslim population was a “demographic catastrophe” threatening “Western civilisation”.

    The 59-year-old Ammanford actor’s comments were originally made in an interview with American journalists from World magazine, but this week they were used by the far right British National Party in a leaflet to campaign for support among cinema-goers.

    Last night Rhys-Davies stood by his views which follow Robert Kilroy-Silk’s inflammatory anti-Arab column. But he criticised the BNP for hijacking his words for their own ends.

    In the interview, Rhys-Davies, who plays heroic dwarf Gimli and recorded the voice of computer-animated character Treebeard in the Hollywood blockbuster, interprets Tolkien’s story of good versus evil as a metaphor for modern race relations.

    He said: “There is a demographic catastrophe happening in Europe that nobody wants to talk about, that we daren’t bring up because we are so cagey about not offending people racially. And rightly we should be. But there is a cultural thing as well.

    “By 2020, 50 per cent of the children in Holland under the age of 18 will be of Muslim descent.

    “I think that Tolkien says that some generations will be challenged. And if they do not rise to meet that challenge, they will lose their civilisation. That does have a real resonance with me.”

    The 6ft tall actor, who wore facial prosthetics and performed on his knees to portray the 4ft 2in dwarf in Lord Of The Rings, even says he is aware that his beliefs could end his career, which has seen him star in the Indiana Jones films and James Bond movie The Living Daylights.

    “I am for dead, (traditional) white male culture,” said Rhys-Davies, who divides his time between his homes in Los Angeles and the Isle of Man.

    “Many do not understand how precarious Western civilisation is and what a joy it is.

    “From it, we get real democracy. From it, we get the sort of intellectual tolerance that allows me to propound something that may be completely alien to you.

    “I’m burying my career so substantially in these interviews that it’s painful. But I think there are some questions that demand honest answers.”

    The BNP reproduced some of his comments on their website, where they ask people to print them off and distribute them at showings of Lord Of The Rings.

    BNP leader Nick Griffin last night defended using Rhys-Davies’ words for their Stand, Men Of The West leaflet, which he claimed was popular with film-goers in the Valleys.

    “He is not a racist in terms of race hate and nor are we,” he said.

    “We just feel his views dovetail with our message as the comments in the interview quoted reflect our opinions too.”

    Rhys-Davies said it was “distressing to find yourself on a BNP leaflet”, adding: “But on reflection, these people can’t really do any great harm unless you allow them to.”

    The actor’s over-the-top views were criticised by Tolkien Society publicity officer Ian Collier.

    He said: “The Tolkien Society is not a politically-aligned organisation and we do not in any way condone the use of his works to support messages of racial hate, just as Tolkien himself objected strongly to the use of Northern Myth by the Nazis.

    “There is documentary evidence that Tolkien did not agree with these views and we are saddened to see this kind of misrepresentation occurring.”

    The views were greeted with contempt by the MP for Rhys-Davies’ former home town, Ammanford.

    “I condemn these comments as being racist and ill-informed,” said Adam Price, Plaid Cymru MP for Carmarthen East & Dinefwr.

    “It is obvious that this man who now lives in the lap of luxury in Hollywood is out of touch with realities of the nature of present day European society.

    “His attack on Muslims and comments about the threat that they pose to Western society shows his ignorance of world events and the true teachings of Islam.

    “Ammanford people will feel very let down by a man with such close connections to the town.”

    Last night Mohammed Javed, chairman of the Muslim Society for Wales, said: “We want an apology. This could stir up racial hatred in society. It’s ignorance, he should learn more about Islam and the religions before he makes these comments.

    “They are based on his ignorance and nothing else.”

    Chief executive of the All Wales Ethnic Minority Association (Awema) Naz Malik agreed.

    He said: “I do not know why he has said these things. If 50 per cent of people in Holland under 18 are Muslims in 16 years time, so what? In Britain the fastest growing race is mixed race, people of dual heritage. It is a cause for great celebration that our cultures are mixed.

    “We live in a global society – we celebrate what is good in cultures and challenge what is bad in civilisations.

    “Does he ever listen to any music other than European? Does he eat Indian food? Does he ever appreciate art other than that from Europe?

    “I feel sorry for this actor because he must feel very insecure about his future. I feel sorry for his closed-mindedness.”

    Wales Friends of Searchlight’s Ian Titherington accused the BNP of hijacking the actor’s comments.

    He said: “Tolkien’s Ring Trilogy is generally considered to be the best fantasy story ever written.

    “It really shows how desperate the BNP are, to try to make political capital out of a cinematic re-production of fantasy.”

    I BELIEVE in racial equality not racial discrimination. All I was commenting on was that there are cultural changes taking place in Europe that I consider to be unacceptable.

    The fact that a minister of the French government has to fly to Cairo to talk with one of the religious heads in one of the mosques to get his approval for a ban on headscarves can be seen in two ways.

    One, is how wonderfully culturally sensitive. The other, it seems to give an authority to a wholly unelected figure well outside Europe’s jurisdiction.

    I am really proud to be living in a society that accepts women as our equals, that accepts civilised discourse that allows people to hold different opinions without coming to any act of violence.

    Here in America when that earthquake happened in Iran the reaction of everyone I knew was horror and dismay, the reaction of everyone when they heard that the old woman had been brought out alive long after they thought there was anyone there was absolute awe at the extraordinary capacity of the human spirit to survive. Contrast that with people jumping up and down and clapping at the 9/11 disaster in certain countries.

    I don’t think that Western society is opposed to Islamic society at all. I think a very important part of Islamic society is opposed to Western society.

    It is time that ordinary Muslims stood up to be counted.

    Most societies can benefit from a good stirring of genes, but most cultures are tolerant of each other. I do not see Buddhists throwing bombs into Christian churches, I do not see Christians blowing up Hindu temples, I do not see those sorts of challenges.

    When we are prepared to overlook certain things because we don’t want to rock the boat, this is wrong.

    The greatest act of racism is to expect that other people will not behave according to your values and standards.

    Yes, I am for dead, (traditional) white male culture. It’s pretty damn good, pretty damn marvellous, pretty wonderful. That’s not to exclude other cultures, but it’s not to diminish mine.

    I’m sorry that might be perceived as infringing some sort of racial taboo, it’s certainly not intended to be a racial remark.

    We are losing the ability to sit down and be able to have a tolerable argument.

    I do not want to see a society where, should I ever have any, my granddaughters have their fingernails pulled out because they are wearing nail varnish.

    I hope that my friends and relatives in Wales are not going to be shocked by what they are going to read about.

    Do not brand me a racist because I am most certainly not.

    But I will stand by this: Western Christianised Europe has values and experience that is worth defending.

  17. It’s great to see this vastly under-developed wing of our media attack finally advancing. I’ve always felt the pro-White intelligentsia neglected fictional works, being content with the fact-based, statistical tomes and lectures of racial differences, Jewish influence, etc. They usually left the “entertainment” part of the propaganda machine to those that lacked the skills and creativeness necessary to push forward.

    This avenue seems to offer much more flexibility as far as how we present ourselves. While politically, we need to play within the system and keep our cards close to our vest, with books and film we can express ourselves in a much more overt manner.

    How does the fact that Spielberg presented an award to a LOTR film strengthen your assertion that the books are racially charged?

    Note: I believe the fictional world he created did reflect Tolkien’s racial views to a significant extent, so I’m not challenging your assertion, per se; I just don’t see how the Spielberg award presentation is relevant.

No mention of this anywhere in the bios of her, nothing that I could find, except, of course the rumor mongers on StormFront. And I do not trust that site for reliable information. We need credibility in what we say, backed by sources that are reliable.

  22. We see Blacks inserted onscreen into Dickens, into Robin Hood, into every place that they do not and never have belonged. The absence of Darks in any movie these days is a relief. To see a movie that depicts a war of Whites against dark-skinned sub-men is a joy. To be oblivious to the racial angle of TLotR is to be simply oblivious. Is it really necessary for Gandolf the Grey to call the Orcs “Niggers” for everyone to get the point?
    These creatures at the Tolkien Society that squeal at the suggestion that their meal ticket was a racist are cringing swine. They would never have stood in line with their countrymen against Orcs, Blacks, or anyone else.

  23. Race is a central theme in most of Tolkiens works. Look at the extensive geneology charts in the back of the books. No orc can be elected King of Gondor by Soros, er, I mean Sauron.
    Although Tolkien would deny ‘racism’ we should remember that he was born in Africa during the 19th century where boggie men who ate people were quite common. You cannot discount this fact. If I had to have one or the other I would prefer orcs to negros.
    On a related note, the author of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling is heavily promoted right now. She is the Anti-Tolkien. She inserts vile race mixing and other anti white themes into her books even though they add nothing to the story. Tolkiens books are wholesome while Rowlings are damnable.

    Mea Culpa. Sorry about that one, yes I was just passing on a late-night Stormfront rumor and after doing some research this morning, I can’t find any solid Jewish genes, though her family life is the rock star life, not middle America.
    She’s the daughter of a Playboy bunny that got knocked up by some rock star, and there was some dispute which rock star was the biological father.

    Here’s Wikipedia on Liv Tyler who played Arwen in LOTR – I thought Aragorn should have gone for the much more physical daughter of Rohan – the blond warrioress who killed the Ring Wraith King, but was a bad cook.

    It is cool, good to have it verified! As to Aragorns’s choice of Arwen over the daughter of the kind of Rohan, I understand your point of view, but in the “Silmarillion” (the fictional history of Middle Earth as written by Tolkien), it is established that Aragorn fell in love with Arwen during his youth when he was being raised by Elrond, (I believe it was Elrond- I would have to look it up to be certain) and thus he was committed (another Western value!) to Arwen. Besides, wouldn’t you rather he have a wife of the “fairest and most noble race” in Middle Earth, one of the “immortals”? If I sound like something of a Middle Earth “trekkie”, it is because I am! I loved the story when I first read it in the early 1970’s (oops, giving my age away; but then that is why I chose “oldtimer” for my moniker) and still feel much the same about it today. It is great stuff.

    I look at this subject of who Aragorn chooses for a mate/queen in many ways. One way is that JRR Tolkien is presenting idealized propaganda for what a noble, Anglo Saxon English King of some mythological age would do one that was best for the realm, best for the world; and this will entail idealized romantic love. As you say, he fell in love with Arwen when he was a child. Women readers go for this stuff, romantic, enchanted love held from the age of a child and not consummated until final victories are won in the prime of adult life. I guess Aragorn is supposed to have kept celibate his whole life until he wins the final battle at the Black gate of Mordor and comes back to Minis Tirith to be crowned King, then gets to marry this Elvish princess.
    But, some of Tolkien’s real world male readers think he should have gone for that fetching blonde daughter of Rohan – Eowyn. One drawback for Eowyn, In the LOTR movie is she is depicted as a very bad cook, and though very beautiful/sexy, she’s a tom-boy and doesn’t like to do things like take care of children, preferring to fight Ringwraiths with her sword, though as she tells the King of the Wring Wraiths:
