I plan to take this website in a new direction this year.
It is more like an intensification of the present course. I really started to get my bearings around the middle of last year and have been firing on all cylinders for about three months now.
Here are our virtues:
(1) Practical – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be relentlessly practical. We are going to focus on the practical things (long term strategy and short term tactics) that we can do in the real world to reverse our decline and turn the tables on our enemies.
(2) Realistic – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be realistic about our circumstances. We are going to accept reality as it exists as our starting point. This is America in 2011 and you will never assume otherwise from reading our material.
(3) Engaged – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be engaged with the system. We are going to work within the hated system to advance our views on subjects like immigration.
(4) Optimistic – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will have an optimistic, upbeat tone. I’m sick of hearing “we are doomed” and “all is lost.” There are a lot of things we can do to improve our situation.
(5) Radical – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be a truly radical website. We are not going to just talk and let one year bleed into the next. I promise you we will be acting in all sorts of ways.
(6) Focused – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be focused. We are not going to waste our time on vague generalities, sterile navel gazing, wild fantasies, and gauzy idealism. We are going to focus like a laser on specific pieces of legislation in Congress and the state legislatures that move the ball forward on important issues.
(7) Populist – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will have a populist tone. I think the vast majority of White people agree with us on fundamental issues like immigration and multiculturalism. We are not going to talk down to ordinary people.
(8) Effective – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be effective. You saw a preview of this in the fight against the DREAM Act.
(9) Normal – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be normal. We are going to project an image of being normal, ordinary White Americans who are passionate about issues like immigration and multiculturalism.
(10) Positive – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will be positive. I think Kelso has demonstrated the value of staying positive. I’m going to start ignoring the vanguard and focus on more positive lines of analysis.
(11) Building Bridges – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will attempt to build bridges to the mainstream. We are going to try to make it as easy as possible for ordinary people to feel comfortable here.
(12) Constructive – In contrast to other White Nationalist websites, Occidental Dissent will always search for constructive solutions to our problems. There is always something we should be doing that we are not doing.
This is what is going to make us different.
The task we are setting here is to try to make conservatives more racially conscious while making White Nationalists more effective. Next year we will revisit this post and assess our progress by this measuring stick.
That’s a nice summary and great mission statement.
A couple of suggestions, FWIW.
1) Some bloggers like Roissy link three or four of their best articles in a prominent place at the top of the page, articles that allow new visitors to quickly grasp the purpose of the site, and get a sense of its tone and content. It might be a good idea to link a few what you regard as your best articles in a similar, prominent way. I would propose this one and the one on effective metapolitics. If you have no plans for the Forum, RFA and Donate links, perhaps that screen real estate could be used for this purpose.
2) The Blog roll. While I have never read most of those sites, some of them such as “Neofascist Film Reviews” and Martin Lindstedt strike me as possibly inconsistent with projecting a “normal” image that ordinary folks can relate to. I like Martin Lindstedt’s commentary, but the man is about as far from ordinary as you can get.

I’ll make my silly unsolicited suggestion again: Maybe you can do articles on pop culture occasionally, or recruit people who can. It might bring in more viewers and that’s the point really. Your articles over the last few months deserved more views. Try to work in something about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber 🙂 Or put up random pictures of Taylor Swift. Try to find some pro-white writer who writes about movies and television.
I like the structure of The Spearhead (forget the content and whether one likes it or not, I’m talking about the structure), they have a good stable of writers and it’s a one stop shop for all things men/anti-feminism. Lews’ suggestion above is good also.
Of course this is all easy for me to say. Anyway, good luck and Happy New Year.

One thing I’d recommend is avoid all infighting. I know there are people out there whose approach you disagree with. The best thing you can do about them is simply not mention them at all.
I personally think that we need multiple approaches, and these approaches fill different niches, that are complementary, not competing.
For example, I don’t watch any sports, but I think it’s good that you do, so you can connect with people who watch sports in a way that I cannot.
Occidental Dissent is definitely a well known brand out there now. The antis have helped you get your fame on! I wish Imaginee2050 would screech about my blog like they screech and scream about OD!

By what method, exactly, do you plan to make Conservatives more racially conscious? It’s not like this is a new, or untried concept? Indeed, Far-Right types of all sort and stripe have tried to reason with Conservatives on this front for decades – with abysmal results.
What magic formula have you discovered that you believe will be so different?
Conservatives have become more racially conscious in recent years.
I have been reading Free Republic for a decade now and there has been a definite change in the tone of the comments there. The SPLC, ADL, and ACLU are now frequently ridiculed and held in contempt. There is almost no support there for pro-amnesty conservatives like Jeb Bush and Newt Gingrich. They are less intimidated by the charge of racism than they used to be.
The racial anxiety of conservatives is clearly seen in Congress now where there was near unanimous opposition to the DREAM Act which many of the same Republicans supported less than three years ago. They voted against it because of their fear of primary challenges.
I think this change in tone has a lot to do with the enemy overplaying its hand. The turning point in the immigration debate was the big rally in Los Angeles back in 2006 when Hispanics buried the city in Mexican flags. That was the highwater mark of our opposition.
As to the “how” question, I have repeatedly answered that in several posts about the subject. We push through moderate measures like Arizona’s SB 1070 to bait the enemy into a hysterical overreaction. Then we take advantage of the resulting polarization to shift the debate in our direction.
The failure of the Far Right to engage conservatives is due less to irreconcilable differences than it is to the sheer stupidity of the vanguard which starts with an opener of insulting their audience.
Those who don’t believe there has been a change in tone among conservatives ought to check out David Frum’s website. Even a Jewish neocon like David Frum is now arguing against … legal immigration!

These are worthy goals and I wish you success in achieving all of them. What approach do you plan on using in order to educate the conservative masses about the realities of racial science? Are you going to tackle this head on or beat around the bush and hope they get it?
The left has indeed overplayed its hand as of late. Our friends Tim Wise and Kent Wong are good examples. They’ve made their anti-white intentions crystal clear, to the point where even supposedly “useless” white conservatives are waking up.
Fundamentally, most white Americans agree with us on issues such as immigration and multiculturalism, even if they are repulsed by what they perceive to be white nationalism.
We just need to build bridges, avoid alienating those whom we champion, convince these whites that we’re not too radically different, and eventually we’ll reach the conclusion that we have similar goals.
I think that WN’s need to work as hard as they can to ensure a conservative victory in 2012.
Believe me, if Obama gets defeated by a white conservative in 2012, the left will overreact in a way that makes Tim Wise’s temper tantrum look like a love letter.
Leftist overreactions only serve to help our cause.

There are real differences between the Left and Right. We know from the polling data that 80 percent of Republicans believe immigration is having a negative impact on America. The number of conservatives who agree with us on immigration is much higher.
In contrast, about 45 percent of Democrats are opposed to amnesty. Progressives are overwhelmingly in favor of amnesty.
It will make a huge difference when Republicans like Steve King and Lamar Smith are in charge of immigration policy in the House.
Of course there are and always have been corporate Republicans who cater to the business wing of the GOP. They are nowhere near as numerous though as the populist conservatives. We also know from the vote on the DREAM Act that we can force Republicans to vote for our interests.
We have leverage over the Right which we do not have over the Left.

I was re-reading Archeofuturism by Faye today and he made the point that no expected solutions can be expected to work until the catastrophe already happens and I on a wide scale I agree with that. However what we can do in our local community is build a community that under the right conditions will be available to replace the status quo when the time is right.

(2) Arizona succeeded in cracking down on illegal immigration in 2007 and 2010. Even our enemies acknowledge that those laws have succeeded in driving out hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.
(3) There have already been similar crackdowns in Georgia, South Carolina, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee which have made a dent in the problem.
(4) Illegal immigration is down in large part because of increased enforcement and the border fence which was built along 600 miles of the Mexican border.

Everyone in my [immediate] family has brown eyes – my cousins and uncles, on both sides, almost all have blue eyes varying only in the intensity of the hue. My grandmother had complete heterochromia: one green eye and one blue eye.
Both my paternal and maternal lineages trace directly back to Germany – my haplogroup is I1 (Y-DNA), my mtDNA will likely yield a Germanic or Scandinavian result, too. My aunt had her mtDNA measured – her haplogroup is: a subclade of V, which, if my genealogy serves me correct, means it will be V in my DNA, too.

Large parts of the South including South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi will have an outright minority majority in the next twenty years either from a combination of mestizo and negroe births or migratory negroes from the North. Southern culture is already vanishing from Virginia, Texas and Florida so whatever crackdown theses states might engage in won’t affect the legal Mexicans living there or the negroe population. That’s just a pure and simple fact. There are a 100 million nonwhites living in America with US citizenship and they aren’t just simply going to vanish. A separate ethnostate seems to be the only way to move forward unless there’s an overthrow of the government and the Nazis take over, which is highly unlikely.

Antagonizing us is one of their main strategies, because without the existential threat the far right kooks pose to them, they would be politically irrelevant and they know it.

However they are not unique among non-Whites in their anti-European attitudes, so as far as I am concerned, they should not be worshiped as a unique or special people in this struggle.

Georgia and Mississippi won’t become minority majority until 2039, and South Carolina won’t until 2049. The states we’re about to lose are Arizona in 2016, Florida in 2018, New York in 2019 (though I’d argue we lost New York 100 years ago) and Nevada in 2023.

I grew up in Western NC about 50 miles from Asheville and there were no minorities in the county except 1 black family whose kid attended my high school. The population was mostly British, German and Swiss. After high school I moved out of the state and my parents moved to Central Florida to retire so I hadn’t been back in 25 years. My parents left Florida in 1998 because of the changing demographics and moved back to NC. I visited them shortly after and was horrified to see the all American town I grew up in had swarms of Mexicans walking downtown, women with 3-4 children and pushing strollers, “Se hablo Espanol” signs, shabby Mexican restaurants and those ugly third world storefront businesses that pop up wherever they live. This was a solid right wing area and Western NC was one of the most homogenous areas in the South. This once safe area now has gated communities dotting the countryside and these latinos will eventually take over the area in another generation.
Thanks HW for helping me see what the vanguardists really are, a loser’s cult. But in all honesty that is the story of the white right from paleos on down to internet Hitlers all predicated on the fact that we are going to lose, come lose with us, send money.

The state I live in was assessed in the 2008 community survey as 88% white. It is not. We have large numbers of mestizos, nilotics and goucs in every urban area of appreciable size and that includes small cities in otherwise rural areas. This state is becoming a colony of the third world.
Granted, you can still escape the hordes in the country, but it is hard to find jobs there. It certainly won’t happen for the white collar types. The GT idea of micro-communities really would be perfect for rural America but there is no organization to make it a reality.

While I don’t know if Otis self-describes using HW’s “vanguardist” category, he said that on WN sites like the phora and Stormfront, most White Nationalists regard opposing and destroying Israel and Zionism as higher priorities than stopping non-White immigration into the USA and Europe. According to Otis, this is the predominant opinion on Stormfront. This faction of WN believes that WN should support anti-Zionist Leftists who are also pro-immigration and anti-White over immigration restrictions neocons like Tom Tancredo.

(1) We defeated comprehensive immigration reform with a Democratic president, a Democratic Congress, an a Democratic majority with 60 votes in the Senate. I would call that a victory.
(2) We defeated the DREAM Act three times this year. I would call that a victory.
(3) Our victories in the House have killed the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform for at least two years. I would call that another victory.
(4) We criminalized the presence of illegal aliens in Arizona with SB 1070. I would call that an offensive victory.
(5) The polarization that resulted from the Justice Department lawsuit over SB 1070 have around 22 states preparing to copy the law in 2011. I would call that a huge offensive victory.
(6) We banned ethnic studies and affirmative action in Arizona this year. I would call that a victory.
(7) We are banning birthright citizenship in Arizona and other states this year.
(8) We are directly assaulting the 14th Amendment now.
(9) Illegal immigration has been cut almost in half in recent years. I would call that a victory.
(10) We have succeeded in driving out hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from Arizona.
(11) We have weakened the charge of racism and succeeded in pushing conservatives to the Right on immigration. I would call that yet another victory.
Now what have the vanguardists done for White people last year? I mean aside from coming here and attempting to DISRUPT our efforts to fight the DREAM Act.

(5) I have never been interested in the why of the matter. The only thing that interests me is that Jews are hostile to White people and their presence here has a negative effect upon us.
(6) I haven’t seen any evidence that it is genetic. Tribalism is genetic. I think they have historical grievances against Whites like blacks.
Whites are the only demographic that have consistently kept Jews in check/booted them out. Hence the Judaci determination to exterminated Whites.
Jews need to be forced to deal with the fact that they themselves have inspired socalled “Anti-Semitism”. Nothing wil ever change until that Critique culture is tunred back on them.

The anti-illegal immigration issue is the perfect issue to introduce Racial Awareness. Affirmative Action is next. Then – “foreign aid”.
