North Carolina Gone, Is Virginia Next?

North Carolina

Romney started pulling resources out of North Carolina last week. Now Obama is falling back to Virginia.

It is coming down to the Midwest:

“But senior Democrats increasingly recognize that their path to 270 electoral votes is not in the latter three but in the Midwest.

“Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio are crucial — if we win those three states, the president is reelected,” said Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), a close Obama ally.”

Note: Romney is +2 in the latest ARG poll in Nevada. I notice he is also up to 0.7 in the RCP average. I think it was 0.2 yesterday.

  1. I’ve spent a few more minutes trying to make sense of what you said there (at 6:30 pm), Apuleius. Once again, your original statement that confused me was the following:

You high-minded holier than thou types can parse it any way you want.

Because Chris and I had disagreed with Robert Oculus re reaction to the word “racist,” I thought you were possibly suggesting that Chris and I had been parsing something or being holier-than-thou. I now take it that that’s not what you were suggesting.

I’m now guessing that, in speaking of “the different kind of ‘white guilt,'” you’re referring to guilt over insufficient racism, so to speak. You’d define that as racism that does not involve hatred of blacks. Is that it?

  2. I’m not holier-than-thou. The people who know me in real-life, will tell you that I’m cordial, but more than a little reserved. But if I’m pushed, I can be as vicious and nasty as any street nigger. And I learned from the nastiest, blackest niggers this side of Africa.

  3. Don’t worry about it, Chris. Neither I nor Apuleius (as far as I understand his original comment) was suggesting you were holier-than-thou. I just couldn’t make sense of Apuleius’s original statement. I thought it possible he was objecting to what you and I had said in reaction to Robert Oculus, though I couldn’t figure out what his objection was.
