If The South Was Right, Then Why Are There Rainbow Confederates?

Dr. Michael Hill has addressed the Rainbow Confederates in a new essay on the League of the South website:

“Could there be any victory more complete than to have the descendants of one’s own defeated foes embrace the victor’s principles and repudiate those of their ancestors?”—Samuel Francis

Several years ago, a pro-South pastor told me that even the most hardcore, traditionalist Southerners in our own day are reconstructed to one degree or another. Though I hate to admit it, I think he is correct.

You see, there is a great gulf between what most “Confederate” Southerners believe in 2014 and what their ancestors believed a century or more ago. The purpose of this article is to point out how our thinking has changed over that time span, why it changed, and what we can—and must—do about it now if the true South is to survive. …”

Note: A “Rainbow Confederate” is someone who supports Southern heritage, usually a Baby Boomer who likes the Confederate Battle Flag, but who subscribes to a false version of history and who embraces the racial and cultural values of the enemies of secession, who were known in their day as “Black Republicans” or “Radical Republicans.”

This is a bizarre worldview which would have perplexed both sides in the War Between the States. I’ve started a new Southern heritage Facebook page called “The Fire-Eater” in order to educate the public about the true racial beliefs of the Confederate generation.

Perhaps we can agree that the MSM and school systems are both very effective tools for indoctrination? Private schools are also regulated in what they can “teach” (no anti-PC stuff). You know as well as I do who owns the MSM and that group’s overwhelming influence in the education system. So why is it a surprise that you have “reconstructionist Confederates”? There is also the need that people have to be part of the in-crowd, to be included. Then as you see with the next article on your site about Kievsky that that same group’s power to cancel your paycheck is a powerful force for reinforcing all of that indoctrination I spoke of.
And still, after a century of trying to “work within the system to change the system” aka “vote the bastards out” people are still trying the same thing. Face it, the system is owned by that elite group and trying to get your candidate elected either isn’t going to happen or even if he/she did get a foot in the door (unlikely) he/she would be corrupted in no time flat either thru blackmail or simply recognizing the potential rewards of playing along to get along.
And by the way, the blackmail issue I spoke about above; what do you think that all the internet spying on Americans is really for?

    • I agree with all of the above and would like to add one other reason. The churches have also been used to do what you describe has been done.

      • Yes indeed, the churches have been incorporated in a large way as well, I just forgot to include them as part of the indoctrination system. But all the attempts at activism aside, the USA is most likely going to implode on its own via an economy that will not be able to sustain itself once the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, China are the main three) have moved away from the dollar as the world reserve currency. The downward spiral of the dollar together with unemployment/underemployment (how many people do you know that are barely surviving despite having 2 or 3 part time jobs?) are going to cause the US to descend into chaos. Very much like Ferguson MO X1000 when the EBT cards stop working.
