I’m still bummed that Norbert Hofer lost in Austria, but the “No” victory in the Italian referendum will have greater consequences:

It’s official. “No” has triumphed and Renzi is resigning.

  1. The Italian vote was much, much more important than the Austrian one.

  3. No big surprise. Europeans have shown they’re reliable on referendums but always cuck out on candidates. I don’t think Marine Le Pen will win either.

    • I don’t know if Frexit is necessarily in France’s best interest. The EU is the tyranny of a Franco-German empire.

          That’s partly why Austria voted as it did. Belgium will vote in a similar way but Holland will bolt from the stable.

      • I’m not so sure about that. Perhaps they don’t want an aggressive psycho getting up in their faces. None of the conventional right in Europe will do anything to halt the negrification. One way or another a psycho might come at you.

          Putin is somewhat different, because he is an autocrat, but in terms of his popularity and policy, he is akin to JFK in terms of policy.

          Le Pen hasn’t won anything.

          I would wonder about Hungary, which may be an example of far right victory, but I know too little about them to judge.

  4. Congrats to the Italian people! I pray that this is only the beginning of their awakening. I also know that, if they keep pushing, they can force their own Brexit style vote.

    And if Italy leaves, the EU will be dealt a very strong blow.

    Now a lot of people might say, ‘Italy won’t leave, it’s economy would collapse!’ But that’s not true. Northern Italy has a huge manufacturing sector which would benefit immensely from no longer being tied to Brussels.

          • No. There is good sense in having France and Germany united. It’s Charlemagne’s old borders. Just as long as Hans and Marianne don’t push around the British, Italians, Dutch etc it’s a model for peaceful pan European relations.

            We just need to bury the Kalergi side of the plan and replace it with something that will boost white birthrates.
