HuffPost employees, after a year of working through a pandemic that isn't over, were invited to a meeting today with the password "spring is here," where they were told 47 of them would be laid off. They would only know if they still had a job if they didn't receive an email by 1— Laura Bassett (@LEBassett) March 9, 2021
Don’t worry, Microchip. I’m still gonna get you.— Luke O’Brien (@lukeobrien) March 9, 2021
.@lukeobrien has been a damn fine voice in reporting on the far right and he deserves so much better than this.— Emily G (@EmilyGorcenski) March 9, 2021
Quality reporters on the extremism and disinfo beat @HuffPost, including @lukeobrien, @nickrobinsearly and @RottenInDenmark, were laid off today and extremists have taken note.— Regina Morales (@reginamorales) March 9, 2021

When journalists get laid off after spending 4 years hyping Trump-Russia stories, mocking the idea that there was economic anxiety in a nation with 150,000 deaths of despair per year, pushing idpol, pushing culture war, ignoring the national security state, and rat fucking Bernie pic.twitter.com/jSihnE0ADl— $ean P. The wignats have been on a roll lately.
Among other things, we predicted that following Blumpf’s demise the Left would demobilize and check out with Joe in the White House. The market for non-stop Trump hysteria would dry up. In contrast, the Right would wake up and radicalize without their pacifier in the White House. Neoliberal Joe would end up being more of an opportunity for us to move on, learn from our mistakes and reboot our movement. The polls now show that we underestimated how much Blumpf’s “winning” was weighing us down. Pretty much every issue has shifted in our direction since he left the White House.
Note: Libs are being laid off everywhere.
