As things stand today, various op-ed writers in the New York Times who are opposed to the rise of “authoritarianism” are only asking for small concessions like getting rid of the U.S. Constitution because it is an antiquated “white supremacist” document, getting rid of the filibuster, getting rid of the Senate, getting rid of the Electoral College, packing the Supreme Court, adding states, getting rid of the Bill of Rights and other obstacles to “our democracy.” By “our democracy,” they mean obstacles to their own power and rule as a social class. They are entitled to rule over everyone else who lives here.
