Secular Talk: Proof Evangelical Christianity Is a Cult

Kyle is upset with White evangelical Protestants.

Originally, Christianity was synonymous with atheism, progressivism and social liberalism, but somehow it has been perverted over time by Southerners into a culture of social conservatism. Jesus Christ was pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-“trans,” pro-immigrant and pro-socialism.

If Kyle is unhappy with American evangelicals who are mostly Baptists and Methodists for being confused about the Trinity and Original Sin, I don’t think he would have liked Calvin’s Geneva or the Lutheran states in the Holy Roman Empire. He should spend some time exploring what Protestantism was like before it got mixed up with liberalism in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In the history of Protestantism, the whole point of evangelicalism is that it exalted emotion and sentiment in conversion and the life of the church over doctrine. The movement began as a reaction against the emphasis on Christian doctrine in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is fair to criticize evangelicals for deemphasizing doctrine, but that has always been the case.

Note: I’ve included a video below that explores the rise of liberalism within Christianity in the 19th century.

  1. I am starting too sense, a brewing civil war, in christendom itself, nothing like this in modern times, this will eclipse, the split’s of the 1860’s, by far, the evil elites, will control the churches publically, till Babylon falls, the true believers, will go underground, the church will be purified, Christian’s are being persecuted daily in china, yet they survive, they are thriving, Young Christian’s in Iran, are marching in the streets, beating 23 year old attractive young women too death, because they prefer, not to imprison, their God given beauty, too the ugliness of Islamic law……..Interesting times, a great time too be alive…..

  2. I renounced the Southern Baptist Christianity I was raised with for its mindless worship of Jews. I can deal with cultural conservatism and all that, but not with idolizing Jews.

      • Judeo-Christianity is a lie, for Judaism is the ANTITHESIS of Christianity. Christianity wasn’t born from Judaism, but rather was perverted by it.

        • Christianity began as a messianic form of Judaism. That cannot be disputed. The first Christians were jews, including Jesus of Nazareth. To say that Christ and his disciples were not jews would have come as a surprise to them. In fact they’d probably be insulted and tempted to punch you in the nose.

      • Which is why even this Honeycutt dude quoted here, cannot understand that it’s not just Reformed Theology and Bavinck (amil Dutch do-nothings) but Rushdoony, Chilton, North Christian Reconstructionists, (postmill theonomists) who were saying all this CN stuff, FORTY YEARS AGO. Torba and GAB are merely realizing that what we all saw as possible, a generation ago, is Weimar tier, today. And deserves a PUTSCH to remove it, once and for all.

To that vision, therefore, Christian Zionism is naught but a full-blown, stinking, perverted HERESY. So, too is EVERY ASPECT of EVAN-JELLY-GOO Xtianity.
They all need to go… to Hell.

We need a Kristallnacht of books by Hal Lindsey, Left Behind, Heather has two mommies, and other Entartete Kunst to “burn, baby, burn!”

Gimme that old-time religion. That burned at the stake jews, faggots, and heretics.

          • Yeah, It’s much the same thing.

“Not only a theology, but an eschatology, or doctrine of last things, which renounces history, or sees it as defeat, is faithless to Christianity.  God is maker of heaven and earth, not Satan.  History culminates in God’s plan and triumph, not in Satan’s victory.  To the extent that any eschatology involves the victory of evil in history, to that extent it surrenders and retreats from history.  Currently, one of the major sins besetting evangelical Christianity is eschatology which denies the evangel and denies history.”
Rousas J. Rushdoony, “The Foundations of Social Order: Studies in the Creeds and Councils of the Early Church.”

  3. This is not even a specifically US phenomenon. Around the world one can find Protestant fundamentalists feeling rather cozy with authoritarian right-wing strongmen.

A quick Google search will tell you that Evangelicals are the most devoted voting base of Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil. Less well known is their recent rise in Chile, where they helped to throw back the proposed Cultural Marxist new constitution recently:

“Meanwhile, the evangelical churches, which recently entered into an alliance with the far-right Republican Party, have a strong presence in Araucanía, with their membership constituting about 27% of the population. In late February, before the article on gender rights was even approved by the Convention, representatives from more than 2,700 churches in the region called on their communities to reject the draft, citing abortion as their main concern.”

  4. Covid hysteria, vaccine hysteria, blm hysteria, etc., is also cult-like. Bernie and Obama both had/have more or less fervent cults of personality. Globohomo and their obsession with everything queer. Cultish behavior is an unavoidable part of the general human condition, even if you’re an atheist.

California was way ahead of NSDAP, with stricter laws and concepts.
California, The White State, had a strong eugenics movement in the early 1900s.

    • It’s bizarre and irrational that race realism and eugenics both have such a bad reputation today — why did it become taboo to acknowledge racial differences, and promote improvement of the human species via selective breeding, as is commonly done for animals? — or to even acknowledge such a thing is possible?

People like to highlight the role of Franz Boas (a Jew) in this, but I would like to see/read a more thorough exploration of how that came about — a fuller social and scientific context.

On the other hand, there are those like Steve Hsu who research and promote polygenic embryo scoring and selection, while ignoring the moral question of the creation and destruction of a growing and potentially very large number of human embryos (I’ve broached this aspect with him several times in comments on his blog) — I see this as also a general moral issue with fertility treatments featuring hormonal stimulation of ova production, extraction of ova, then in vitro fertilization followed by implantation — many embryos are produced this way, but only one is implanted; generally the others are eventually destroyed.

    • Yes…the “Nazis” took much of their eugenics philosophy from the good ol’ USA…now conveniently forgotten.

  7. Hunter,

This is a serious question. Have you heard of „The Germanization of Early Medieval Christianity“ by James Russell? It is a good summation of how Christianity spread from the Roman Empire to Northern Europe.

The short version is that Christianity took off in Rome because of the urban lifestyle, atomization, and anomie of living in a beleaguered multiracial empire, causing people to look for „salvation“ and community that they lacked. In contrast, Germanic Europe had no need for Christianity as their religiosity filled their needs and they had strong kinship bonds.

Just like how Africans and South Americans came up with their own weird, synchronized Pagan-Christianity such as Voodoo to make it palatable, the early Christians in North Europe distorted the Christian God and traditions in what was supposed to be a temporary accommodation. Instead the Germanic paganism rubbed off on Christianity to such a degree that what we consider to be „Christianity“ for decades was actually the Germanic version of Pagan-Christian syncing.

I would argue that if one wanted to get to the essence of Christianity before it’s Germanization and then subsequent liberalism + de-Europeanization, the place to look would be Christians in the Early Roman Empire.

There are also people who have taken Christianity literally, and sought to imitate Jesus‘ life as closely as possible, traveling the world with little to no possessions living only to help the poor and downtrodden. One such man was William Gayley Simpson, who after decades of doing this turned away from it, I recommend people read about him as well.

  8. “Men, you must give no quarter to porn.

It is soul-destroying. It enables child abuse and all of the vilest harms of women. It is the antithesis of everything that is Christlike manhood”

White knights are always good for a laugh…

    • He’s right though, we should kick porn to the curb, but I see a different reason. Porn is a poor substitution for the brothels men in male centered societies always had access too in the past. But feminism and the welfare state wrecked all of that. Back in the day daddy could get some on the sly and not have to worry about his wife and kids coming home and finding a rabbit boiling in a pot on the stove. And that’s for the alpha’s with the game and motivation to pull off a fling on the side, the rest are like this fat schlub I used to work with in the 90s who openly admitted shamelessly of going to the booths at dirty book stores due to a sexless marriage.

  9. I know many people here aren’t fans of Catholics, but I’d rather live under Evangelical rule than Secular Jewish rule. At least once we’re done with the Left, we can negotiate and have an amicable separation. Anglo Protestants can have Dixie, Catholic Ethnics can have Yankeedom. However, there is no negotiation with leftists, they cannot be reasoned with, they want to completely destroy western civilization.

    • Catholics should also have Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Florida and Louisiana. Essentially the states settled by Anglicans, which is closer to Catholicism than Evangelicalism, and of course Florida and Louisiana are a given considering their history.
Articles have come out showing excavation results of skeletons at Jamestown being found with Catholic reliquaries like miraculous medals and rosaries. Of course, you had no option at that time to publicly be Catholic in England, which was illegal. Many Anglicans were crypto Catholic. That being the only option. Attend by law the Anglican service once a week, but have a private altar and mass in secret.
Also, a word for the Spanish Conquistadors. These men were clearly raised up by God to squelch the demonic empires of the south. Cortez is an exemplary individual. Thank God the Aztecs are no longer here today.

  10. Kyle isn’t any smarter or less biased than say, Marjorie Taylor Greene (okay maybe he’s a bit smarter than her, but not by as much as he thinks he is), or Steve Bannon, or Alex Jones.
He has an opinion, like everyone.
He has a take on Christianity, it is his, there’s nothing objective about it, it’s just a far left batshit woke perspective.
At the end of the day, there’s nothing nuanced or that interesting about progressives like him, they are just regurgitating political talking points they picked up from others.
Kyle is one of the better ones at regurgitating, he does it really fast, bam, bam bam, nails all the points, but an intellectual, a free, independent and innovative thinker, he is not.
He is a progressive through and through, he filters everything through that lens.

That being said, he’s more of an old school, Ralph Nader or Dennis Kucinich progressive, since he’s anti-war, wants to focus more on economics than identity politics, was apprehensive about the covid mandates, etcetera.
He’s a progressive populist, let’s call him, as opposed to the progressive elite like Bill Gates, George Sorors, Klaus Schwab, Noah Harari and the Rockefellers.
Will progressive populists like him and Jimmy Dore ultimately be fooled by the progressive elite?
    Time will tell.

  11. I think at the end of the day, guys like Kyle will eat the bugs, live in the pods, wear the mask and get all their shots as long as the porn, video games and weed are really good.
Say goodbye to free speech, due process, property, privacy and bodily autonomy.

  12. Wait? As if Evangelicalism wasn’t socially conservative during the 80s? How has it changed other than Biden’s handlers having the senile old coot call it out in a mumbling speech?

Still though, at the core of the issue is the fact that if you don’t believe the preposterous claim that someone “rose from the dead” it comes naturally for you to consider those that do chumps and suckers which even without any of the leftist brainwashing will cause friction. For rational people, the “Diest” type theology is probably the best spin to put on religion to make it plausible to educated people.

  13. A message too the persian people, from JESUS, Come into me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest unto your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light…….

  14. Kyle is a 34 year old man who is “engaged” to a 40 year old woman with a kid, Crystal. Black people have a name for Kyle, motherfucker. A single woman with a kid is weak and easy prey for a male sex predator. Kyle is going off on Christianity and Christian morality because he does not want to marry Crystal just wants the sex. What a piece of crap.

  15. Christianity has always been an alien-imposed religion, no matter how many attempts are made to Westernize it.

  16. “In the history of Protestantism, the whole point of evangelicalism is that it exalted emotion and sentiment in conversion and the life of the church over doctrine. The movement began as a reaction against the emphasis on Christian doctrine in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is fair to criticize evangelicals for deemphasizing doctrine, but that has always been the case.”

To be fair, there are some traditions (such as the Reformed Baptist, of which I am a part) that, I believe, have a proper emphasis on personal conversion and a regenerate membership without excluding other matters of doctrine (because that too is a matter of doctrine). Our 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith is thoroughly evangelical and comprehensively sound in biblical doctrine.

You might say that what’s called evangelicalism today began as a correction of a lack of emphasis on personal conversion and a regenerate membership before it fell into some of the errors it’s fallen into today. You’ll get no argument from me that emotionalism, sentimentalism, and a lack of solid biblical doctrine are the sad reality of many evangelical churches today—we lament the same thing (“evangelical” with emphasis on the “jelly”)—but to say that has always been the whole point of evangelicalism, to me, gives evangelicalism a bad name that it doesn’t deserve.

I guess it depends on what you mean by “evangelicalism.” In a sense, it can mean “Protestantism,” so I don’t think you mean that. If you mean the tradition as a whole or the doctrine itself (including some who practice infant baptism, such as Presbyterians, Congregationalists, and some Anglicans and Lutherans), I think your point is a bit unfair, but if you just mean many of the churches that claim that name today, like I said, you’ll get no arguments from me.
