As I said last night on the phone with a friend, three things appear guaranteed to happen in 2024:
1. Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee unless he dies of natural causes. We are headed for a rematch.
2. Trump will be convicted somewhere on at least one of the charges (74 at the moment) lodged against him. More charges are coming. There are only so many bullets he can dodge.
3. Trump supporters will not accept the legitimacy of his incarceration and will interpret it as the definitive proof of a rigged system and Deep State conspiracy to interfere in the election.
So, what happens then?
Does the election cycle continue with Trump behind bars? Is that seriously the plan?
