The Gilded Sunbelt is being fueled by insane progressive policies in Blue States that make life unaffordable there for working class and middle class families. They are driving out their own residents who have nowhere else to go but here which is driving up housing prices in the Sunbelt.
If this was working for them politically, they would be fine with it. The problem is how the 2030 census is going to change the Electoral College and how it threatens their coalition.

If you really do want to visit Washington County go during the summer months, avoid the cold. A few miles inland from the coast of Maine it’s like the frontier in the 17th century, lots of wilderness. The people, real Maine people, not Somalis obviously or transplants from all over in the Portland area, are friendly but reserved.

You should visit, Hunter. My entire family is from Maine. My father’s side of the family is from Washington County. One of my great uncles was a lobsterman. In the small towns on the coast, you can go to the lobster pool, which is like a farmers market for seafood brought in by the local fishermen. We had a spot on the beach near Acadia National Park where we would have family lobster/clam bakes. I remember exploring tide pools along the shoreline, watching lobster boat races from the shore. Good memories.
Everyone up there hunts and/or fishes. Deer season is November, and my father would always find our Christmas tree in the woods, cut it down, and bring it home at the end of hunting season, around Thanksgiving.
The small towns are still nice, but it has changed a lot. Growing up, the first time I recall seeing a black person was when I went to Washington DC for the first time when I was eight years old.
My maternal grandfather was a Beam from Washington County, Maine whose family moved to Florida after Pearl Harbor where he met my grandmother. My wife is always joking with me about my Yankee side. The Scots-Irish also settled in northern New England.

Anyone who truly loves traditional Southern culture should see this as a major problem. I am not saying everyone even has to value Southern culture. I am saying that if you do, then you should recognize this as a problem.
We should talk realistically and honest about this. If we view the South as the future homeland for the white race and we treat the South as a refuge for whites everywhere, then Southern culture will continue to rapidly disappear. We can’t have both at the same time.
I don’t care how offensive this sounds, but you can’t preserve the South unless real ethnic Southerners make up most of the population of the South. Sure, we could turn the South into a future white ethnostate for all white people. It would be like a new America but more conservative. But the South as a cultural region will be gone.
If I as a Southerner move to Russia or France, sure I can assimilate because I am white, but I will never truly be Russian or French like Slavic Russians and actual white French people are. I don’t have a family history in either country. I don’t have the blood. I don’t have the great grandparents passing down stories about old times in either of those countries. I only have all those things here in the South…. a region that is day by day being taken from people like me.
I think at some point, white people in other parts of America are going to have to get their own houses in order instead of always running to the South. As Southerners who are pro white we should gladly help them do that however we can. But the South honestly doesn’t need anymore people. You have places like North Carolina where actual real Southerners are now a minority. Our cities are crowded and expensive. Will Alabama become the next North Carolina? Do people want that?

What few people realize is the cascading effect. People in NJ get run out by Puerto Ricans and they move to the South, then displacing Southerners.

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but the process is probably too far advanced in most of the South to do anything about it now. It’s been going on for quite some time. Superficial symbols of Southern culture will remain, but its essence will be homogenized away. This isn’t just a Southern problem, by the way. Regional differences all across the country are getting washed away in the same manner.
Anonymous, there are still plenty of people in the South who know what and who they are. People know where their grandparents and great grandparents came from . Even if someone came down here in the 1960s, it is still common for his grandchildren at this point to have mostly Southern heritage.
This happened with my sister. Both her (our ) parents are true Southerners. She married someone with a Southern dad and Northern mom. But as a result, her kids are still 75% Southern stock.

I think there are still enough of us down here to be aware of who we are and to do something about our preservation. And more and more people are fed up with the invasion I notice.

It’s not just the cities it is the rural areas too as you mention. The town I’m in was below 10K in population and is now well over 25K if not higher in just a few short years. The infrastructure is not in place and cannot be put in place to stop the overcrowding. 30 miles from the suburbs there is rampant development. This used to be straight country. Too many white liberals flocking here because of their failed voting practices and then they seem to continue those same voting patterns. I don’t mind other like minded Southerners or even those truly that can respect the South but we really are getting overcrowded and this is not sustainable. We have a joke in my house and even my kids do it now… when we see a Subaru we know there’s a 99.9% chance it’s yet one more liberal in town. Remnants of real Southern culture will remain. Families like yours will see that it lives on in small scale. But cultural swamping is inevitable in all regions of the USA. Here is the Rust Belt, it was a quick death that happened in the early 1980s. NAFTA killed this area. Before, it was a strong, conservative farming ethic. Small town. Unlike the South, here everyone young or who had any other options, just left. Many went down South at that time, as many bad parents like mine who were originally from the South. I went out West, first; eventually, South for a few decades. Nashville, not the real South. I’m back home, now. The Rust Belt. Indeed. I remember the first time I joined my family in making the return to visit the land of their fathers in the Old South. This interesting clan tradition had been going on as long as anyone could remember and supposedly went back to colonial times. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to learn from genealogical research that my family in its colonial days had made return visits to their family seats in Britain during the time of British rule. But, I digress.
Going back to the South was very interesting. The first time it was the warmth of the night and wet air, the fire flies dancing amkng the Willows, Spanish moss, and the magnolias blooming under the stars, all surrounding the music venue where I watched my family joining a live concert. I never saw so many adults having such a rip roaring time dressed to the nines. One of the musicians playing was Glen Campbell. His song he sang stayed with me my whole life to remember that time I first became acquainted with the land of my forefathers. I am blessed for seeing it, it’s rural life, sweet tea, ice joints, etc, before it began to really receed.

Its a problem that needs to be solved. FAST! The only way to stop this is to make it too expensive for people to move to the South. For generations, Southerners haven’t had a problem with having too many people. They did little to manage growth as a result. That needs to change. Limits on sprawl and growth expansion are needed NOW! Farmland, grazingland, forests, heritage sites, historical districts, parkland, etc all need to be made off-limits to developers. Where development is allowed, it must be built in a manner that is aesthetically and culturally related to the Southern history. King Charles III became a big proponent of this when London started to get demolished by international often American based developers. He was pretty successful given what he was up against. The South should take a cue from him in that regard. By providing capital, grants, loan subsidies, etc to people invovled in restoring the Old South and limiting the New South, Southern legislatures can save their material heritage. If they provide it exclusively to Southerners or people who originate in the South, they can fortify their own politico-cultural base. In fact, inviting people of Southern ancestry who live outside of the South or their community of origin, the South could start bringing back Whites who aren’t Yankees or Ellis Island Rif Raf. Having a bunch of Southwestern and West Coast people of Southern origin return to their ancestral communities would give a big stiff of strength to the South.

Correct. I dont view the White Race has something to build solely upon. At best its a base for civilizational build up. This was the purpose of the Atlantic Charter, but its not the American Charter. For that Charter, the term White is too broad. There is a saying among our English ancestors, which I once promoted to Elon Musk. You could put an Englishman on Mars, and he would still be an Englishman. You can put a Martian in England, but he won’t be an Englishman. The same holds true for our unique Southern ethnicity. People need to stop making excuses about how “it’s okay that they’re here” or “I’ve met some really nice ones” or “I guess they’re doing the jobs we don’t want to do”. That’s all crap. Integration is innately impossible. It’s mass deportation or death. There is no economic argument, there is no study or statistic or crime rate that is required to justify a mass deportation. They have to go simply because they are replacing you, it’s that simple. Even if they did make the gdp go up or even if they were peaceful, they have to go. Every other argument or piece of data is secondary for justification.
The most desired areas to live in are the most unaffordable. This isn’t because of liberalism, but capitalism. My guess is that people are simply being priced out of their metro areas. The fact that these metro areas are also blue is a correlation, but it is not causation. The super rich are voting Democrat and the dirt poor are voting Democrat, while Middle Class people can’t keep up with the increased cost of living. But the causation is that too many people want to live in prestigious areas, thus rising the prices. Then people are looking at it realistically and realizing they can’t keep up.

I find it hard to believe it is fully true. If it is, how was it even our fault? We didn’t cause it. We tried, communities in Socal, to get national petitions to stop the flood of Vietnamese ‘boat people’ into the US. We didn’t get any cooperation from Southerners.
