I don’t much to say about Pope Leo XIV.
I’m expecting more of the same that we got from Pope Francis. Is there any reason to believe the church will move in a more traditionalist direction? I have heard Prevost is more of a progressive.
I know some people had problems with some of the things that Pope Francis said. He wasn’t my favorite pope ever. But keep in mind that Pope Francis:
*affirmed that abortion was murder and a grave sin.
*opposed the trans movement and described it as the ugliest danger of our time
*described homosexuality as intrinsically disordered
*insisted that the Church could not ordained women
Another meritless dolt put in a position of power and prestige, humanity is sick.
I think he will be like Pope Francis, Steve Bannon says that he’s anti Trump, some news wrote that he voted for Republicans in past elections. I don’t have an opinion about this man.

The Catholic channels (more trad leaning) I follow are not enthusiastic. They’re putting on a happy face for now, guarded comments, hoping for the best I suppose. I doubt he’ll be a loose cannon like Bergoglio, with his doctrinally questionable off the cuff remarks. On the issues this site cares about, I’d expect more of the same anti-borders, pro-“refugees” blather.
He has dual citizenship: US and Peru.
