DERSHOWITZ DEPARTS: Legal legend Alan Dershowitz is officially ditching the Democratic Party. The lifelong liberal is registering as a Republican, citing the Democratic Party's "hostility" toward Israel and a radical shift that he warns is "bad for America."

I will be the first to admit that I didn’t see this coming.
In retrospect, I couldn’t believe that Trump would start a war with Iran, particularly in a midterm election year, because in doing so he would be committing political suicide and empowering Democrats who would impeach him and resume their campaign to destroy his family and businesses.
WSJ:
“I am a lifelong Democrat. I started campaigning for the party’s local candidates as a teenager in Brooklyn, N.Y., have been a registered Democrat for 67 years, made speeches for John F. Kennedy as a college student, and can count on one hand the number of Republicans I’ve ever supported for any office.
I still disagree strongly with the GOP on abortion, the separation of church and state, immigration, healthcare and taxes, among other things. Yet I’ve decided to bite the bullet and register as a Republican. …
I wish I could designate myself as a “foreign-policy Republican,” but there’s no such option, so I have to go whole hog. By registering as a Republican rather than an independent, maybe I can have some influence on moving some Republican policies toward the center. I have given up on trying to change the Democratic Party. My main goal is to send a message that many traditional Democratic voters can’t accept what it is becoming—a replica of left-wing European parties that are hurting their countries. …”
I woke up this morning.
I checked my feed on X and saw three new polls were out which have Trump collapsing to around 35% while FOX & Friends is hyping the news that Alan Dershowitz has quit the Democratic Party for the third or fourth time and is becoming a Republican to support Trump’s foreign policy.
MAGA is floating dead in the water. Trump has collapsed into George W. Bush at the end in 2008 territory. He traded millions of supporters for Alan Dershowitz.
