House Republicans Introduce Farmworker Amnesty

Scott Greer’s new book White Pill: The Online Right and the Making of Trump’s America drops tomorrow. He couldn’t have picked a better publication date.

The war with Iran for Israel is officially back on. Inflation and gas prices are rising again. Global reserves of petroleum are dwindling to unprecedented lows. More American soldiers are dying for Israel. Trump is breaking historical records with his loss of support among Independents.

It is the perfect time about three months out from the midterms when Democrats having an 82% chance to take the House of Representatives for about 50 House Republicans to co-sponsor a bill introduced by the Republican chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and to reform the H-2A visa system to include poultry processing.

Note: You might be surprised to learn that Thomas Massie is not among the dozens of House Republicans sponsoring the bill. MAGA has spent the last year claiming that Massie was uniquely horrible on immigration while Trump himself repeatedly endorsed amnesty for farm workers.

  1. Modernizing agriculture in the U.S. means kicking out the brown farm workers, all of them, thus forcing the price of labor to climb which would lead to substituting technology for unskilled labor. There are already robots picking tomatoes and other crops in the Central Valley and even grapes, a very difficult crop for robots to pick, in Napa and Sonoma counties and elsewhere. Agriculture is a great application for AI, robotics and other technologies vs. using stoop labor. Robots can go 24/7, day and night and they don’t spread disease in the crops either.

The businessmen who buy the Republican politicians would rather keep their obsolete, inefficient, uncompetitive farms marginally profitable with cheap labor and taxpayer subsidies even though the country gets wrecked. This is what is known in politics as “Our Democracy”, a suicidal form of government.

  2. You knew this was coming, right? It’s the same pattern as last time, except the performance was more convincing last year. Tons of EOs, more bluster, grandstanding in shitlib strongholds like MN to give gaslight media a chance to scream about ICE. Meanwhile, the absolute unchecked massive fraud in such places remains in place with likely empty promises of enforcement. Now comes the cucking stage, which will get much worse next year. As you note, Massie did not vote for this amnesty. It was all the regular AIPAC stooges instead. Even so, it’s not as if the D-jerseys would ever vote against it. What a total shitshow.
