Bloomberg: Trump Weighs Call For Capital Gains Tax Cut as Midterm Boost

I finally started reading Scott Greer’s book Whitepill this morning.

Bloomberg:

“President Donald Trump is looking for new policy pledges he can present to voters ahead of the midterm election, according to a top economic aide and a former administration official, including potentially calling on Congress to cut capital gains taxes and create an exemption for certain home sales.

National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said Tuesday in a interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow that Trump wants to offer voters more incentives to back Republicans in November’s election.

Kudlow, who led the council during Trump’s first term and remains an ally, said he had recently spoken with Trump about indexing capital gains, meaning taxes would be applied on gains adjusted for inflation. He also suggested exemptions for sales of homes worth $2 million or less from capital gains taxes, adding that “the boss is very interested” in those ideas. …”

Listen to this.

This is how Greer describes the pre-Trump GOP in 2013 at the opening of the book.

“Yet Republicans were incapable of offering one. More than two decades after the Cold War, the conservative movement no longer knew what it was defending. Anti-communism had been its defining purpose, but communism was gone. The attempt to replace it with the messianic interventionism of George W. Bush collapsed in failure and disgrace. Republicans could only offer wonkish promises to better manage the national debt and reduce marginal tax rates. The dominate ethos among party leadership was to become a more respectable and more pro-business version of liberalism.

This was the consensus when I arrived in Washington in early 2013 …”

It is mid-2026.

We’re less than a 100 days out from the 2026 midterms.

Donald Trump is a historically unpopular president who has sunk to 34% in national polls. He is more unpopular than Joe Biden and George W. Bush. He is more unpopular than Herbert Hoover was when he lost to FDR in 1932. He has a lower approval rating on inflation than Jimmy Carter.

We’re stuck in a war with Iran for Israel in the Middle East after Trump campaigned as the “Peace President” and ran on “no new wars” in the 2024 election. Trump is the third Republican president to start a war in the Middle East, neglect the economy and hand power back to Democrats. He is the third Republican president in a row to destroy his coalition in this way. He started the war to overthrow the Iranian regime which was “killing its own people” and threatening us with non-existent WMDs which he claimed to have destroyed the previous summer in Operation Midnight Hammer.

Trump is the only Republican president in a century to be given two trifectas. He spent both trifectas on corporate tax cuts. The Big Beautiful Bill made his 2017 corporate tax cut permanent. Before he sinks into political oblivion after the midterms, Trump is considering squeezing the last ounce of political power out of his current majority to pass a capital gains tax cut. Larry Kudlow was the Director of the National Economic Council in Trump’s first term and is who is advising him to do this. Greer looks at all this and sees a Trump revolution that has overturned Reaganite economics and W.’s foreign policy.

What happened to the GOP that was defined by anti-communism which was out of gas until it was revitalized by Trump’s Alt-Right rhetoric? It is running against communism in 2026. The national debt has more than doubled since Trump came down the escalator in June 2015. During his 2016 campaign, Trump called himself the “king of debt” and vowed to pay of the entire national debt in eight years.

  1. Great! Tax breaks for the Epstein Class!! Perhaps Queen Miriam can open a chain of cut-rate burrito stands to have her imported workers serve the bros 12-dollah burritos. The servers can roll them up in hands just used to wipe so the burritos will pass thru very fast and the bros will have to buy more as soon as they get out of the nearby Johnny-on-the-Spot (also owned by Adelson, Inc.). Such fantastic political acumen! Truly the stablest genius of all time!

  2. Cutting taxes while maintaining or increasing government spending is a recipe for inflation because you are increasing the money supply from both ends. Then you have the COVID lockdowns, driven by Boomers, and the ensuing mass fiscal and monetary stimulus to keep the stock market from collapsing. Then you have three major wars collapsing supply. Then you have Trump’s tariffs crushing supply even more. Then you have Trump and states cutting income taxes, increasing the money supply more. Then you have the government driving the AI bubble on the vain illusion of firing everyone, further choking raw metal supply. He can’t even reshore nitrile gloves.

  3. Trump is the worst of all time, because in the White race’s hour of need he sold us a wall and deportations, but gave us amnesty, forever wars, and anti-semitism legislation. All while stoking more hatred against White people than ever before. When he should have been strong and intolerant, he bent the knee to CNN polls and Mark Levin. What a weak, weak man.

  4. In Jewish Business News today Bob Iger and Josh Kushner bought the Los Angeles Lakers for a cool $12.5B in freshly printed judefetzen. The Tribesmen love to buy pro sports teams now because there are massive opportunities involved for writing off taxes.

    • With respect, then tell your fellow traveler brown leftists here to boycott the games because muh capitalism. Do the jews hold a gun to your head to watch and degenerately gamble on the games? The tax cuts won’t mean shit if no one participates but that kind of thinking and discipline is too boomer? I laugh at the breathless coverage of the WNBA which is inadvertently giving them revenue and attention that should be waived off as a waste of time. I never watched the wnba in my life and my news feed and Whites need to have endless conniptions about 2 shitlib White women putting the ball in hoopers. Priorities….

  5. It’s actually a good idea for the middle class. If you bought $100,000 in stock in 2006 and it went up 66%, to $166,000, you only matched inflation, which was 66%. But you still pay the cap gains on the $66,000 gain if you sell it. But at this point in the Trump debacle, it’s pointless. Bush I promised it in 1988, but got stuck in the Middle East and instead increased taxes, causing a recession and giving us the Clintons.

  6. Let’s not forget Trump did manage to cut government expenses by some 500 billion dollars just from waste, fraud, abuse and reductions in force. Trump has eliminated some 750,000 Federal jobs of which more than half are from incompetent minority bureaucrats who got their jobs via the Democrat Party slush patronage and the rest were mostly leftists. Meanwhile, some 250,000 personal were added almost all of whom were White. That’s a total of 500k reduction with another 500k coming by the end of the term. Trump has fundamentally broken the Woke Democrat Administrative State.

Meanwhile, he has also made welfare changes. Are they good? It’s hard to tell. Immigrants and illegals were certainly effected but by how much is unknown and it’s currently in court. Realistically around 750 billion could be recovered just from no longer paying immigrant households. Republican Study Committee research said that around an equal number could be recovered from restoring the Welfare reforms of the Clinton era. If we removed the illegal alien population and half the immigrant population we could fill the positions with displaced and mostly White workers saving around 500-600 billion in costs there.

Sadly, I don’t see is going to that objective fast enough or deep enough. Meanwhile, the Administration and Congressional GOP have made these cut cuts permanent and now wants to extend their cuts deeper. In a previous era Trump actively campaigned to tax the trusts, foundations and hedge funds of the financial elite. Estimates at the time said we should get 575 billion a year which today would equal to around 900 billion a year. Trump is clearly not going that direction.

The US cannot afford any further tax cuts. It long ago reached maximum utility value anyways. What it needs is income generation at the working and middle class and a reduction in the numbers of poor and dependent persons. Removing the foreign origin population accomplishes most of that by forcing a massive labor market demand. Reforming welfare and implementing a comprehensive employment training and movement program solves the labor market demand whilst increasing income.

Actually reducing income tax thresholds would capture the majority of the income increase as taxable. Meanwhile increases in corporate taxes and upper income taxes paired with deferements, write-offs, tax credits for Research and Development, industrial capitalization, and subsidies for small business and entrepreneurial purchases, together with Trump tarrifs and duties with government investment commissions directed to public shipyards, airplanes and arsenals as well as private maritime, aerospace, rail, auto, steel, nickel, aluminium, nickel, refineries, etc, would create an explosion in high paying jobs and small businesses as well as tax revenue.

The country is captured by financial and soft tech interests, interests almost exclusively centered in New York City, Chicago, and the Bay Area, as well as an administrative elite centered on Washington DC. Lobbyists from the other interests have captured regulatory and admin bodies ensuring there is no alternative voice. Trump understood the basics of this and promised a direction to unravel this stranglehold and build out industry.

So far, Trump has done mediocre at best work in implementing MAGA populist economic agenda. He has done some great work on breaking the administration class, but it’s not focused on the captured regulatory and admin bodies. He has implemented some tarrifs and duties but hasn’t instititinalied it with investment commissions directed toward recovering those revenues and rebuilding Maritime, aerospace and others. Frankly he didn’t have and didn’t try to recruit the thinkers, experts, and staffers necessary to do what he promised or inferenced. He has surrounded himself with millennial political social media influencers, GOP donor fund babies, and financiers. People in the administration like Feinberg are looking at spreadsheets thinking of the money directed toward building some new shipyards at high cost over several years thinking they’ve solved a problems and not solved anything while millennials are surprised that shooting 100 million dollar missiles at Sand N@ggers isn’t a solution to Sand N@ggerism. Trump is floundering domestically and internationally. Hunter’s solution is Black Supremacy. We are Phucked.

    • Actually, the Clinton policy in effect at the time was putting criminals in jail in tandem with the “Three Strikes” life without parole mandate for re-offenders.

Bring that back along with tough border enforcement that emphasizes enacting the Rico statute against companies who hire, landlords who house them, and bureaucrats who give them benefits and then you have a safe, inexpensive society to raise your children.

      • What and having fat senora women crying with veils on their heads as their men film and children are taken from them like Hunter showed Palestinian women do the same thing over, and Over, and OVER. Hello they might start calling you a Zionist oppressor.

        • @Aryan Globalist Bro:

I already told you that I don’t GAD about either the Palestinians or the Israelis – in fact, I wish both sides to perdition. But they can kill each other as long as NO American blood or treasure is involved.

I also don’t GAD about Latinas crying for the cameras about the possibility of their children being taken from them when the entire FAMILIA can be gathered up and sent home.

In the meantime, we have to concentrate on imprisoning and fining the SNOT out of anyone who magnetizes illegal immigration: Corporations, Landlords, Welfare Offices and ALL NGOs that bring them up.

          • “In the meantime, we have to concentrate on imprisoning and fining the SNOT out of anyone who magnetizes illegal immigration: Corporations, Landlords, Welfare Offices and ALL NGOs that bring them up.”

            100% Agree

      • “Rico statute against companies who hire, landlords who house them, and bureaucrats who give them benefits”

That’s obvious, clear, simple and direct , exactly why it will not be enacted.

  7. I guess Greer doesn’t know that “dominant” is the word he was looking for, not “dominate”. Always used to see this moronic mistake on sportsball message boards.

  8. Inflation is raising the value of all financial assets, houses, real estate etc. But their relationship to gold has remained unchanged. Example when gold was $400 you bought a house for $200,000 now that gold is $4,000 your house would be worth $2,000,000. The actual value of the house has not gone up. The value of the money needed to buy it has done down in relationship to gold. So when you go to sell your house you are paying a huge tax on no appreciable gain. Nobody is going to want to sell under these circumstances and housing is a big part of the economy. The problem is too much debt and government borrowing not tax rates. But the wars have to go on and borrowed money is needed to finance them. They know, but the complaints are getting angrier and louder.

    • Old Gen. Smedley pointed out long ago that all wars are banker wars. One never sees members of the Epstein class coming home from the front in a flag-draped coffin. Just zeks and other “little people” (who do include business-owners below a certain level). Usury-racketeering massively distorts all economic activity.

    • “So when you go to sell your house you are paying a huge tax on no appreciable gain.”

Inflation is a second form of taxation, a stealthy form. Then it is compounded by having to pay tax on the tax.

*Pssst* inflation is actually devaluation, but no one is honest enough to call it that, especially zog and their footstool media.

  9. “national debt has more than doubled since Trump came down the escalator in June 2015.”

The national debt is now in its exponential growth phase, no longer linear. This is the very dangerous phase where natural forces will take control, it won’t be legislatively manageable, something big will snap, bond markets, stocks, value of the dollar, something really big and uncontrollable. We’re also in a situation like Japan in 1988, way overvalued stocks and real estate, malinvestment on steriods, but worse, the Japanese are a nation of savers, Americans are a nation of debtors .

Trump bankrupted several businesses, now he’s on his way to do it to America.

Keep an eye on Japan, they have a fantastic national debt , like the USA. They may set the pattern that will be followed by America.

  10. I’m ready to play JR and move some money around. I’m not happy with the service I’ve gotten from a bank I’ve done business with for decades. All for them, little for me.
