Allow me to explain this mindset:
1.) Disaffected Populists – The Alt-Right congealed in the George W. Bush era when disaffected populists and nationalists began to criticize conservatism on the grounds of its trade policy which was deindustrializing the country, its foreign policy which was bleeding the country dry in endless, inexplicable wars, its immigration policy which was changing the country’s demographics and its consistent defeats on social issues and taboo policing for the Left.
2.) The Ron Paul Revolution – The Ron Paul Revolution was the first attempt by these disaffected populists and nationalists to challenge mainstream conservatism in the 2008 and 2012 Republican primaries. Libertarianism soaked up a lot of that energy mainly through being “antiwar” while mainstream conservatism was pro-war.
3.) Donald Trump and MAGA – When Donald Trump came along and began to echo all of these familiar themes, the Alt-Right backed him in the Republican primaries. Once again, the goal was to challenge mainstream conservatism and the movement was elated when Trump won the presidency. It appeared at the time that a new national populist movement had triumphed. Everyone voted for Trump for highly idealistic reasons to turn the country around.
4.) The Trump Presidency – After two years in power, Donald Trump has failed to make any progress toward these goals, and even worse, he has embraced exactly the messaging and policies of mainstream conservatism that inspired all that resentment in the first place.
5.) Extreme Disillusionment – Now, extreme disillusionment and cynicism has begun to set in with many of these populist and nationalist voters, especially those who have suffered the most from all the blowback against Trump in the form of violence and deplatforming from the Left.
6.) Andrew Yang Comes Along – The collapse of Trump with this swath of voters has opened up a political vacuum and it was only a matter of time before it was filled by another Ron Paul-style protest candidate. Everything stays exactly the same as it is now but with $1,000 a month is a winning message.
7.) Disaffected Populist Voters Again – In 2016, there were lots of populist voters whose first choice was Donald Trump, but their second choice was Bernie Sanders. They would have rather voted for Bernie Sanders than Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio. This was a real thing.
Now that the Trump presidency has become the Jeb presidency, many are now asking the obvious question: if we are just going to get more of the same on the “MAGA agenda” issues, more of the same old 1980s conservatism, why not go with my second choice in 2020? Why not vote on the basis of issues like health care, student loans, bills, private tuition costs and so forth which have been consistently neglected for the sake of voting for idealistic notions of saving the country?
If the country is going to shit anyway and it is harder to pay the rent because I have been deplatformed, why not take the $1,000 a month and cash out? If conservatives have no room for White Nationalism in the Republican Party, why not go with Green Nationalism in the Democratic Party?
This is the root of the #YangGang taking off. Trump, following the advice of cucks and Kushner, drifted farther and farther to the lower right (where nobody is) and left a void in the upper left for someone like Yang to come in and appeal to his populist voters. pic.twitter.com/DEFP7HYIvv

How big a demographic are NEETS? Is there enough of them to elect a President?
Tech is a seemingly endlessly expanding force. So, my gut says yes.
There are no even half-way decent candidates for whom to vote. Screw them all.
Serious question– Would 100% government-funded campaigns (presidential and congressional) be a part of a solution? With jews contributing 50% of Dem and 25% of Rep funding, wouldn’t this eliminate the power and influence of shitheads like the Adelsons and Singers?
The biggest problem in the populist Right (White Nationalists are only one faction) is that there is no money. No money = no representation
I suspect part of the money problem is people don’t want to be identified when they send money.
@ Hunter Wallace, The next time the Powerball Jackpot goes over a billion dollars, we need to pool our money together on tickets.
Goofy ‘pie in the sky ‘ idea. Anyone with a better one?
You hit the nail on the head, our rich people are evidently too stupid and greedy and cowardly to promote White interests.
I’m either voting Democrat for acceleration reasons or not voting at all in 2020. If Yang is serious though about the $1000 bucks, why not milk the system for what it’s worth?
I’m sure congress will go right along with that plan. Just another case of a guy saying something to get people all excited.
Because your 1000 dollars will be worthless
I know Yang won’t be POTUS, but it’s refreshing, in a tragic sense, to hear from a politician who doesn’t absolutely loathe White People, and who wants us DEAD.
I noticed too that Trump moved towards cultural Marxism at the SOTU address and came away black pilled..Asians are based and avoid Cultural Marxism..Yang doesn’t make me cringe
you are mistaken.
the dog-eaters are no more friendly to Whites and their civilization
than the Jews.
the Judeo-globalists envisge a Whiteless world run by Jews and administered by Chinks.
unless you enjoy the punishment,
stop voting altogether. It is nothing but self-defeating.
Haxo Angmark: You got that right, nosing the ground before chinks is just as bad as nosing the ground before jews. Unless Vlad Tepes is running in 202, i’m not voting.
It will be musical chairs again. Have we learned nothing?
Vote for the one that has no funding and remains on the fringes. But do it at the last minute and don’t let your enemies know what you’re thinking. Lots of memes and no wordage. Do lots of vocal communication in person to trustworthy family and friends only.
Another thing… what’s with this voting Democrat to solve our issues? Worse is not better, it is generally worse. They will go for the Second Amendment and probably do away with the electoral college.
Emotions should not decide anything.
Excellent analysis. Points 1 and 3-5 describe me to a T. A problem I see is the top right of the graph, what Krugman called the “racist populists,” isn’t being represented at all. Most likely, we never will be. Is that why you’re for just letting our current system continue to burn down, Hunter? We might as well get what we can out of it, since there’s not much we can do, and our views aren’t (and won’t be) represented?
The song “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler is about vampires..
Jew demon Jim Steinman wrote it as a vampire love song when he was writing music for a musical stage adaptation of Nosferatu that never happened.
Only in the sick demented mind of a jew
At this point immigration is already a done deal. The oligarchs and political middle-managers have made it more than clear that it (along with all “conservative” social issues) is no longer on the table for mainstream politics and never will be again (barring some future black swan event). If that is the case, then focusing on economic issues that affect American whites the most is the only way to express any “pro-white” agenda politically for the foreseeable future. This means “socialist” policies.
There aren’t just supporters of Yang, there are also people actively trying to sabotage him with bigoted memes supporting him. Yang doesn’t support this and it’s pretty messed up.
