Mitch McConnell Leads GOP Senate Delegation To Ukraine

I’ve gotten some criticism for my recent endorsements.

That’s fine. I wish we had better choices. I think it either comes down to endorsing candidates like J.D. Vance and Rand Paul or empowering the likes of Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell. There is no doubt in my mind given the stakes in Ukraine right now that Graham and McConnell are the greater evil.

Politico:

“It’s Mitch McConnell vs. MAGA when it comes to Ukraine.

The Senate minority leader’s secret visit to Kyiv this weekend to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, along with McConnell’s staunch advocacy for the $40 billion Ukraine aid bill in Congress, is putting him at odds with his party’s non-interventionist wing. A growing number of GOP lawmakers, candidates and former President Donald Trump are hitting the effort to send billions to Ukraine as misguided given domestic problems at home. …”

I think there is just too much at risk in light of history to continue to allow Lindsey Graham to throw tens of billions of dollars into a proxy war with Russia.

  1. Where is Lady G? Why didn’t they bring Lady G along? She could work her charms on Volo. Maybe Volo would give her a private piano recital.

    • Very sad. Perhaps she was afraid might have swooned – needing Mr. Tim to fetch the smellin’ salts. A lady must present a proper appearance at all times, after all.

  2. Pity they couldn’t have all been “kalibrated” or “de-nazified” on a single blast. It’s not as if they aren’t enemy combatants to the Russian people (and everyone else on the planet). Looks like Nudelman was along for the junket as well. All are war-criminals and absolutely have it coming. Much restraint on the part of Russia.

Russians did not interrupt Napoleon and will not interrupt US Army and MIC when they digging their own grave.

      • Good point. Yes it was wisest to let them wallow in their obscenity. I was just observing that vaporizing their evil asses would have offered some encouragement to us zeks here in the gulag. I have no good wishes for the empire, nor for anyone who supports it.

        • The mask has slipped, and if one looks carefully he can see the new evil empire is centered in DC.

Stupid Europeans. Stupid Ukrainians. US “leaders” don’t give a shit about the well-being of American citizens. So they certainly don’t give a shit about the well-being of Europeans and Ukrainians beyond their usefulness for advancing their own personal ambitions. Listen, fools: Trust no one.

    • If a 500 Lb. bomb from a MiG had “accidentally” landed in the middle of this group of scumbags and left nothing but a 20 foot deep crater I would not burst into tears over the tragic loss.

  3. It should not go unmentioned (or perhaps unnoticed?) that the hag in the foto is Susan Collins (69 y/o) — the fact these two are abroad representing the US (McConnell is 80 y/o, looks like death warmed over, and has always been as beta as they come), especially re military matters and commitments, is enough to make you wretch.

While I have no strong opinion about your endorsements, I’m simply not going to play the lesser of two evils game anymore.

    PS

McConnell’s time in the US military lasted all of 37 days (‘medical separation’, link):

In March 1967, shortly before the expiration of his educational draft deferment upon graduation from law school, McConnell enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve as a private at Louisville, Kentucky. This was a coveted position because the Reserve units were mostly kept out of combat during the Vietnam War. … Shortly after his arrival, he was diagnosed with optic neuritis and was deemed medically unfit for military service. After five weeks at Fort Knox, he was honorably discharged.

    • Gonzalo Lira covered this on Twitter (link) — there is also a retired (?) army general named Eric Olson — we’ll see (or maybe not).

    • Good catch. Hopefully he’ll sing like a birdie. As a merc, he is not subject to the Geneva convention so he can be ‘encouraged’ to talk in all sorts of ways …. He is not my countryman and he is not a patriot. Just another stinking paid thug for the Empire of Lies working to kill Russian civilians while innocent protesters remain locked up in a DC shithole prison 18 months after arrest. I literally don’t give a rat’s ass what they do to him. Play evil games, win evil prizes.

  4. Apparently there is one thing the Republican RINOS and the Democratic liberal wacks can agree on, constant wars and endless occupations.

    • Nothing can be denied to Northern Israel. Nuclear war isn’t off the table to secure the old jewish unholy land of Khazarkraine.

  5. Re: “A growing number of GOP lawmakers, candidates and former President Donald Trump are hitting the effort to send billions to Ukraine as misguided given domestic problems at home”:

Nonsense. As soon as they take office they will continue exactly the same foreign policy: known as Imperialism. Ayn Rand Paul and Vance are no different than McConnell and Lady G. They all want to destroy ethno-socialism and advance so-called “freedom” (U.S.-based capitalist global hegemony). Remember that Trump was responsible for the escalation in arming Khazarkraine. Every U.S. President since the end of WW2, from Harry Truman to Biden has been responsible for the long war against Russia in Khazarkraine using Banderaites as a proxy force. Russia seemed to have stamped it out the first time by 1958, but a spark was kept alive by the CIA using the large communities of Banderaite expatriates in the U.S. and they started it burning again after 1992.

  6. Even in Latvia, a very tightly-controlled NATO puppet of the U.S., the people are awakening. The Latvian puppet regime used force to stop people from laying wreaths on Victory Day at the monument to Russian victory in WW2, and finally bulldozed the monument, but the people defiantly erected a large photograph of the destroyed monument in its place, and take note: it’s mostly young people who are bringing wreaths to it: https://twitter.com/IracundoIsidoro/status/1525615475174035457?cxt=HHwWgsCy2aHMiawqAAAA

    • In all of the Baltic states (Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia), there are large populations of Russians and Russian speakers — this is a remnant of WWII and the Cold War era.

      >and finally bulldozed the monument

I think the monument is still there, but after the ‘special military operation’ began the city council of Riga voted to remove it — however, the bouquets etc laid before the monument recently to commemorate the ‘liberation’ of Latvia by the Red Army were unceremoniously removed (‘bulldozed’) — so I assume they are honoring a foto of the monument because they are either blocked from accessing the monument itself, or any decoration would again be immediately removed.

The attitude of the Latvians is more evidence that throughout Europe and the West generally, the elites make little or no distinction between the Soviet Union, which does not exist anymore, and the Russian Federation — like I said: in this sense, the Cold War never ended.

      • The Baltics should exist under a grösseres Reich, as they were meant to be, before the judeo-anglo capitalists and judeo-slavic communists evil forces joined together for world dominion.

      • You are correct. I see that the Victory monument, located at the center of the capital of Latvia, is still there. But it is definitely being taken down, whether by bulldozer or other means: https://www.rferl.org/a/latvia-soviet-monument-dismantled-riga/31849235.html

“Bulldozed” was a misleading term to be used for removing the wreaths, perhaps a mis-translation. You are also correct that the alternate wreath-laying, in front of a large photo “erected in its place” is apparently not at the center-city monument location.

It could also be said that the large, long procession of mostly young people are probably mostly ethnic Russian Latvian citizens or Russophilic Russian Orthodox Latvian citizens, but they may also include other Latvian young people who oppose the U.S. puppet regime or disagree with its policies, such as neoliberalism/capitalism, the NATO war against Russia, and the removal of the historic monument. In any case it is encouraging to see that many young people, not just middle age and elderly, are awake and resisting.

      • “In all of the Baltic states (Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia), there are large populations of Russians and Russian speakers — this is a remnant of WWII”:

Some of the Russian population of the Baltics has been there for centuries not just since WW2. The Baltics were Russian territory long before WW2, only briefly independent between WW1 and WW2, previously subsumed in the Russian Empire.

Interestingly, there is also a large NATIVE population of about one million Carpatho-Russians, who are Russian Orthodox and Russophilic, who have always lived in extreme western Khazarkraine (Carpathian mountains).

  7. Hopefully Russia maintains its restraint. Very hard to do when the global superpower is waging backhanded war upon you.

  8. We must elect Republicans in 2024 so we can defend Ukraine! So much for the hope 2024 would be better. Democrats will run on abortion rights. Republicans will run on containing Putin. A pox upon both of their houses! Heads we win, tails you lose! Such is politics in America for its declining White majority.

  9. It’s encouraging to see, judging from the comments, that there are no Lee Greenwood listening type patriotards here.
