“Inflation climbed faster than at any point in the last three years in April as fuel and food prices surged due to the war in Iran.

The Labor Department on Tuesday reported that the consumer price index increased at an annual rate of 3.8 percent — the highest since May 2023 — with rising energy costs accounting for more than 40 percent of the spike. Food prices at grocery stores and restaurants also rose, and shelter prices shot up. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy costs, ticked higher at a rate of 2.8 percent. …”

Trump spends his days fantasizing on Truth Social about making Venezuela a state and putting his face on the $100 Bill while our standard of living nosedives. He pockets millions of dollars by ripping off his supporters by selling them fake golden phones which are were delivered.

  2. Did you ever imagine everything could get this bad under the Orange Dolt, Wallace? And it’s only going to get worse as far as inflation because with an economy the size of the US’s it takes months for the effects of stuff like oil price shocks to start showing up in everyday prices of goods and services.

  3. PS: There is very little Trump can really do about inflation even if he really wanted to. We’re 40 trillion in debt and the dollar is circling the drain ever more rapidly. It’s not so much that the value of basics has increased but that the Epstein Empire is no longer able to hide the disaster they’ve created by forcing the rest of the world to choke on their worthless federal reserve notes. It’s the inevitable result of Keynesian economic married to fictional-reserve banking. Oh and don’y buy Trump, Inc’s shitcoin unless you want a golden statue of Dear Leader in every town square. It might be an improvement over a St. George of Fentanyl idol, but it’s still an idol.

    The very word inflation is a lie , it’s a deflection. It’s really devaluation, inflation is just the result as the devaluation works its way through the economy.

    Second ,
    The numbers are junk , inflation is much higher than reported. The zog only reports a fraction of the actual rate, just to placate the public , because they know they can’t get away with saying ‘there’s no inflation ‘. They report the lowest figure they think the general public will believe.

    They know the greater public is math stupid .

    The nascent forms of senility are subtle and effect people in irregular ways. Someone can be talking perfectly rationally then mention they just talked to someone who’s been dead twenty years … It’s scary.

    Trump is surrounded by power hungry sycophants, striving to keep their positions. This compounds the problem and blocks any reasonable solution.
