Diesel is high in communist states, but I paid $3.24 in Dallas Saturday. This morning I was forced by the company I lease with to buy at Loves. Here in Newton NC, with the 50 cent per gallon discount I paid $5.73.
I have not paid over $5.73 this year or any year and I fuel up four times each week. Maybe once under “Biden” I did pay higher.
Everyone knows if you are going to California stop in Arizona near the border and pay 2 dolla less per gallon. Or if you are near the border and have a passport then bobtail across the border and pay four or five dollars less per gallon.
My company has 1400 trucks and they now have a 50 cent per gallon discount with Loves Much larger companies have a much larger discount. Loves can afford it as they are taking a $3 pure profit on every gallon sold at the price advertised.
A backup plan is to travel to Iran and buy your diesel there, where it now is sold nationwide at 3 cents per gallon. They aren’t exporting much so they are just giving it away to their people.
Up in deep yankee land the tradition is to go down to Texas and fill up tanker trailers, drive back up to Minnesota or Wisconsin or wherever and sell it on Saturdays at places announced only a short time before the sale on the CB.
They are still doing this. I suppose they are selling at $4 per gallon, but that is only a guess. No smart yankee is going to oay 6 or 7 dolla per gallon. Up there many companies also eliminate the gouging middleman and buy their diesel wholesale, and the trucks fill up at their terminals.
These buyer cartels are probably the future of truck fueling, because no one is ever going to forget the great gouge of 2026.
