I enjoyed meeting the immaculately dressed Brit John Derbyshire at the Amren Conference. After all is said and done, all the Conservative “isms”, splits, purges talked about and then “not talked about” (“DON’T TALK ABOUT THAT DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT”), John Derbyshire remains a very intelligent, very charming British Ex-Pat. And that is something very, very good to be. I for one was very honored to have been in the same room with The Derb, sharing a drink and listening to his loud version of:

Ok, the sad reality is that White Britons and those of us of White British ancestry don’t rule the world’s waves any more. We don’t really rule much of anything these days. Many/most of us are slaves in some way, slaves to political correctness, slaves to cultural marxism or Christian Zionism, or slaves to Jewish Neo Conservatism or some other anti White “ism”. It can always get worse, and yes – many poor female Britons are forced sexual slaves to Pakistani Muslim pimps. That’s depressing. Once upon a time, many Whites under Islamic Turk occupation chose to be White Jannisary warrior slaves – that was a choice they made… well not really, as these Whites were kidnapped as boys by the Muslim Turks and then groomed for a slave life as Janissary Muslim shock troops. But, being a White elite Janissary slave warrior for the Turkish Sultan sounds like a better life than being a poor, White female prostitute slave for Pakistani Muslim pimps in Oldham England. But it’s still White slavery.
So must of us will have to choose some form of slavery or try to keep a “stiff upper lip” and remain a free White Brit/British American man, living in honor and also poverty and obscurity in these dark and depressing latter days.
But, all OD readers should understand that John Derbyshire remains a free man. He remains a good hearted, White Brit with a stiff upper lip. He’s been purged from respectable Conservative Inc. society and he knows the score, but doesn’t seem to be particularly bitter. That’s just the way life is today. John Derbyshire recognized the Jewish role in the dispossession of racially loyal White British Americans, but refuses to become a bitter anti Semite Jew hater. He was once honest that he knew this sad reality. His interview with the Jewish cultural life magazine Jewcy is arguably the best discussion of this topic.

I too had the honor of meeting Mr. Derbyshire, at the VDARE webinar.
He seemed like a pleasant and decent man. Little things, like the heartfelt courtesy with which he treated his wife, made a very positive impression on me. And, as even his worst enemies would have to confess, his is certainly a very talented writer.
But Jack Ryan doesn’t give Derbyshire the credit he deserves. The Derb is no longer afraid to speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
For instance, see his recent review of a Calvin Coolodge biography on VDARE. JAck Ryan, and the late Larry Auster, would probably characterize it as the work of a “bitter anti-semitic Jew hater”.
Joseph Sobran was never hyperbolic; he was intelligently, knowledgeably truthful, even when it was risky to be be so. The VDare Derbyshire archive contains 11 pages. The first 10 pages date from his NR termination; the partially filled 11th page dates all the way back to 2000. He seems not to have been putting in much of an appearance at VDare while he was at the heavier-weighted National Review. I don’t see anything remotely hinting of “bitter, anti-semitic Jew-hating”; that you should even suggest Derbyshire is becoming braver or in any way shifting his very warm position on Jews doesn’t hold water. If he manages a less oppositional stance toward MacDonald, I guess that would be because MacDonald is also in VDare’s author list.
About six months ago, Derb presented VDARE readers with a list of various anti-PC sites that he recommends. He dubbed this constellation of sites the “Dark Enlightenment.” Derb included exactly one site owned by a person who is willing to take on the JQ occasionally in relevant contexts: Occidental Dissent. Otherwise, it was a clean sweep of sites run by philo-Semites. No David Duke, no TOO, etc.
I have no doubt Derb is a charming, entertaining and refined man who knows how to dress. You could say the same about Brimelow and many Brits. I don’t see where those facts are terribly relevant.

Strange since I was informed not too long ago by a well known WN blogger that Roissy is Jewish. I was surprised, and even more so to find a good few others seemed to know that already.

I exchanged words with an HBD guy from gene expression a while back. He self-identified as a “cognitive elitist” and seemed convinced that one reason HBD has not gone mainstream is because of its tacit association with undesirables, WNists, who are known to use HBD insights. I had to suppress a smile. All those IQ points, all that deep knowledge of genetics, and he seriously thought WNism was a factor holding back HBD from a mainstream breakout. A lack of appreciation of the JQ can have that effect on even very intelligent people (leading them down blind alleys to incorrect conclusions).

Well, not sure I agree re: the dark enlightenment and the JQ. Obviously the dark enlightenment is not really a single ideology, but a bunch of loosely related critiques of various core ideas of liberal society. Some concepts are core, like HBD, some are more highly variable between the various writers.
Many of the anonymous dudes who comment on DE blogs are wise to the JQ and try to bring it into the open. But most of the major DE bloggers prefer to maintain silence on that issue themselves, while tolerating limited discussion in their comment threads. You get a hint from some of them that they are wise to the issue, at least a soft version of it, but it isn’t a commonly discussed topic. Not sure if this is a blind spot, a tactical deception or a little of both. They still want to be respectable to some extent.
And some major DE figures are themselves Jewish, Moldbug for example. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he is big on the Yankee problem but not so big on the JQ. He does do an excellent job of summing up the Yankee problem.
