“WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. wholesale inflation came in hot last month. Producer prices rose 6% from a year earlier, most since December 2022, as the 10-week Iran war pushed up energy prices and put pressure on companies to pass along higher costs to consumers.

The Labor Department reported Wednesday that its producer price index — which tracks inflation before it hits consumers — shot up 1.4% in April, biggest monthly gain since March 2022.

Energy prices climbed 7.8% from March to April and 22.7% from a year earlier. Gasoline soared 15.6% from March and diesel, the dominant fuel used in shipping, jumped 12.6%. …”

  1. The only solution to this embedded inflation is high interest rates , as Paul Volker did. but it isn’t feasible now, the US is carrying too much debt. In fact, I don’t think the US can tolerate the currently moderate rates.

  3. Now they are reporting 6% wholesale price inflation. You know consumer inflation will be higher as wholesalers pass that on plus some.

    Memory, both ddr and nand, are skyrocketing.
    Likely be shortages as manufacturers switch to satisfy the insatiable ai demand.

America First Trump haters are looking more and more like fraudsters. When Massie goes out no one will be left for Hunter to cheer lead for in the GOP.

  7. I saw gasoline at $3.70 in Texas today. I paid $4.60 for truck diesel in Canton Texas. These prices are lower than last month. Finally there is some push back on the price gouging. In Oklahoma they have been asking why the Love family, a family of billionaires, is taking $1.30 per gallon of pure profit on diesel. The normal margin is around 20 cents.

    The Philippines is at the cusp of a possible civil war. And now a very long power outage in Metro Manila, when the temp is near 120 F. The situation in the Senate is horrible. Mindanao is threatening to secede. All eyes are on the military. A military coup by the anti Marcos generals is widely expected.

    The Empire is unravelling before our eyes.

  8. I’ve read that Sebastian Gorka has talked about labeling Tucker Carlson and doo-fus Fuentes as internal terror threats. What a bunch of clowns Trump has hired. Not one politician in either party cares one lick about the first amendment, except maybe Massie, and Trump wants to destroy him. Democrats and Republicans are both hatched out of the same pile of excrement.

  10. Contrary to what the AI suggests, it is not the minor chords that make the famous intro so uplifting, but rather the major chord starting on beat 16. This can easily be verified using an online chord analyzer, even without a physical keyboard.

    Like any pop song, it’s based on just three chords, of which the major chord is the dominant one. Very similar to Grieg’s “Morning Mood” or Vivaldi’s “Spring”. It is undeniably clear that it is the major key that brightens and uplifts, not the minor.

    This is how Empires collapsing. Soon money becomes worthless. Then resources start running out. Those who still have to defend their resources from those who don’t have anymore.

    At this moment secession kicks in. Borders start going up, own laws emerge, also local money because Central Government money becomes worthless. Central Government decides to punish secessionist and cut of last assistance.

    Then secessionist turn to foreign countries, independent political relations and trade emerges. Finally seceded areas develop into fully independent internationally recognised State’s.

    US will split apart like Soviet Union 35 years ago.
