Axios: Supreme Court Blocks Joe Biden’s Eviction Moratorium

This was always going to be the next shoe to drop on Joe Biden.

Axios:

“The Supreme Court blocked President Biden’s moratorium on evictions in a 6-3 ruling on Thursday.

Why it matters: Roughly 3.5 million people across the U.S. said they faced eviction in the next two months, per Census Bureau data from mid-August. …”

A few weeks ago, I covered the homelessness crisis which is already sweeping across Democratic cities. The vast majority of the people who live in the expanding tent cities are mentally ill or drug addicts. There is a much larger swath of the precariat which is at risk of falling even further into the underclass. What is going to happen to them now that the eviction moratorium has expired and unemployment has dried up? Are they all going to return to the workforce and snap up restaurant jobs?

    • Same here. $15 is starting wage at most places too. Even some trades jobs are advertising “We will train”.
