Now that Republicans are threatening to cut off aid to Ukraine, Dems must be ready to act. How? By locking in long term funding in the lame duck. Rep Gerry Connolly tells me he favors passing something that would show “we’re not gonna pull the plug.”https://t.co/yoYPa4vngD

President Biden says he does not understand Republicans’ threat to cut funding for Ukraine if they win the House:

In addition to codifying gay marriage and interracial marriage into federal law, Democrats want to spend another $50 billion on Ukraine in the lame duck session of Congress after the midterms.
“We learned this week that a Republican-controlled House could very well move to oppose continued U.S. military aid to Ukraine. In response, a few voices have arisen — including ones from inside the Biden administration— to insist that in the end a GOP House would of course do the right thing and keep that aid going.
But even if Biden aides are professing confidence about continuing aid to Ukraine in 2023, Democrats should seriously consider locking in longer-term aid to Ukraine in the lame duck session, if they lose the House and/or the Senate.
Some Democrats have begun openly calling for this. “I would be in favor of any legislative initiative that commits the United States and its allies to a long-term commitment,” Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia told me.
Connolly is right. Being overly sanguine about continuing aid to Ukraine doesn’t sufficiently factor in the dynamics and incentives that will likely shape a GOP House, including the development of an increasingly pro-Russia MAGA caucus that could only grow stronger after the midterms. …”
We need some Lee Atwater type political consultant to lead on this issue – make it personal. Show some homeless Iraq war veterans who can’t get housing or mental medical help then show the fat cowardly Neo Cons (Max boot) Zionist, military industrial complex $50 billion war mongers smoking a cigar, having scotch at saying “it’s only $50 billion”
White Conservatives in Chicago, Illinois are terrible at political advertising the whole governors’s campaign has been about ending all abortions even for instances of Rape and Incest.
Comrade commissar Bezos has spoken.
Saw a comment where it listed what narratives each fish wrap emergency toilet paper enemedia branch carries and I think it was the state department for the compost.
The state department has been red communist for almost 100 years.
Ukraine is the new Israel and Zelensky is the new PM.
@John
“Ukraine is the new Israel and Zelensky is the new PM.”
Israel is probably where Zelensky is gonna end up, if the Russians don’t put him in prison. Or the CIA/MI6, or one of their minions in Kiew, don’t off him, first.
“If we support Ukraine, we’re supporting all of Europe. … Do you think that Mr. Putin decides he’s just going to deal with Ukraine and that’s the end of it?”
So it’s the ‘domino theory’ all over again.
The US expanded NATO (the US could have vetoed NATO expansion at any time) right up to Russia’s borders — this was a variation of the ‘domino theory’ in the form of alliance-building (‘expanding a sphere of influence’), a move clearly meant to intimidate Russia.
While the Russians had to deal with a few internal problems, e.g. Chechnya (part of the RF), I don’t think Russia has tried to ‘expand its sphere of influence’ in the same aggressive way.
And yeah I do think Putin will stop once the problem in Ukraine has been dealt with.
Obviously these Beltway megalomaniacs and psychopaths are just looking for conflict.
“Kevin McCarthy’s Ugly New Ukraine Threat”
May be very well that he said that publically to give cover to the idea that they need to have a crash vote for more money to give them cover. If you really wanted to screw them, as I do, then you would keep that thought in your pocket. The idea Kevin McCarthy is on our side is likely to be fake.
Kevin McCarthy is on Kevin McCarthy’s side.
Suddenly he stopped in front of his son and faced him: “Well, Mr. Custis,” he said, “I have been up to see The Congress and they do not seem to be able to do anything except to eat peanuts and chew tobacco, while my army is starving…”
— General Robert E. Lee — remark to his son, G. W. Custis Lee (March 1865), as quoted in South Atlantic Quarterly [Durham, North Carolina] (July 1927)

The southern states need to form a political party and get military aid packages from Russia, China, etc (all the supposed enemies of the Yankee Empire — BRICS for short) and start waging war against all the illegals within and take out those who are trying to invade through our borders. Have Russia & BRICS send their latest version of HIMARS and get Elon Musk to provide us with Starlink support for precise hits on the enemy’s positions. And get some high profile Southerner to just keep begging Russia & BRICS for more money and equipment over and over and over and over…and start sending us their “mercenaries” for more man-power. Get real political about it and start condemning every one in the Yankee Empire who doesn’t fully support the war effort. What’s the difference…They are trying to destroy/replace us… The Yankees and their supporters will always hate the South and we will always come in last place behind the Ukrainians and anyone else on the face of the earth…
Secede now!
May God Save the South!

“The Yankees and their supporters will always hate the South”
What we should do;
Form a Southern Nationalist Party.
Take over our Southern State governments.
Get our Southern governors to work for the South’s collective, regional/national interests.
Join the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation.
Declare independence.
Once Texas, and the rest of Dixie go, most, if not all, of the Western States will follow suit. This will leave the sixteen Northern States cut off and isolated. They just don’t have the capacity to wage war on the rest of America, anymore, like they had in 1860.
“get military aid packages from Russia, China, etc ”
Except for tanks, trucks and field cars, most military equipment is manufactured in Dixie, or the Western States. Especially aircraft, missiles and electronics. All of the artillery ammunition, for instance, is manufactured in McAlester, Oklahoma. Most of the small arms ammunition is manufactured in Southeast Oklahoma and Northeast Texas. As are aerial bombs, and the planes to carry and drop them.
We don’t haf to limit our choices to just Russia. There are other European manufacturers to pick from. Most U.S. military trucks are now European designs, except for the HEMTT and other Oshkosh vehicles. I favour the Tatra 815-7 8×8 as a substitute for the HEMTT. We can manufacture, under license, anything that we need.
As a result of WWII and the need to greatly expand production capacity, the North is no longer the exclusive center of industry in America. In fact, the North began to collapse in the late 1960’s. It’s a dead country now. The Rust Belt isn’t an affectionate nickname. The idea that factories and steel mills only exist north of the Ohio River, is just old folklore, that hasn’t been true, since WWII.
Our main opponents will be Latin America, particularly Mexico, and to a far lesser extent, Yankeedom. Who will be real busy fighting each other over who or what is the “real America,” or who will lead or rule over this “America.” Whatever that is.
We can just cut off most of their food and gas. They can eat the corn that they grow, to make syrup and ethanol.
End Reconstruction. End the War(s).

@Banned For Life
P.S. The rest of the World won’t be sympathetic to Yankeedom, or lift a finger to help them.
When most people around the World are thinking about “Good America,’ they ain’t thinking about Massachusetts or Wisconsin. They’re thinking about Dixie and the Western States.
Globalism and all of the other vile isms grew out of Puritanism and Quakerism. Not Jeffersonian republicanism.
Confederate ideology has withstood the test of time, because it is closer to the truth, than Yankee ideology.
