Trump Escalates Trade War With Canada

Over the past year since Liberation Day, Trump has destroyed all popular support for tariffs and economic nationalism with his erratic, arbitrary tariffs based on mood swings. He has stoked nothing but chaos which has driven up prices. He was handed a defeat at the Supreme Court which reduced presidential power to impose tariffs. We woke up to Trump threatening to rename Lake Ontario.

New York Times:

“Canada announced retaliatory tariffs as high as 50 percent on hundreds of American products on Tuesday, just days after the collapse of trade talks triggered punishing tariffs from the Trump administration.

As a trade war between the countries intensifies, Canada will start collecting tariffs of 50, 25 and 15 percent on about 700 products beginning on Sept. 8. The most significant measure is a doubling of tariffs on American steel and aluminum to 50 percent. But the list of products affected ranges from household rolls of aluminum foil to railway locomotives and steel bridges. …”

This is the reality of “Whitepill.”

Initially, it seemed like a big breakthrough for nationalism that Trump was imposing sweeping tariffs. This was a radical change from the old bipartisan consensus on free trade. It has become increasingly clear though that Trump has no idea what he is doing. Rates are plucked out of thin air in order to bully other countries into submission. American trade policy has become a farce.

  2. Long overdue. The Canadians have been mooching off of us for far too long. Actually we should just ban all imports from Canadastan and then militarily occupy Alberta to let them have a straight up and down referendum on whether they want to be part of Canada (meaning nothing but house niggers for the Windsors) or part of America.

The place truly is a laughable little okrug of the Epstein Clown Empire. If Donigula wanted to have a great military victory, even the ramshackle US military could likely overthrow that joke of a country in a couple of weeks. The biggest landowner there is Kang Chuck the Turd of Cuck Island. Donigula could take it over and send Chuckie the tax bill. That would be an epic stunt.

  4. Our trade deficit wit Canada would be much smaller if the price of oil on the global market was lower. Without the Iran war, and without the economic sanctions against Russia and Iran, the trade deficit with Canada would be considerably lower.

    I’m willing to bet there are some schemes set up by Lutnick and the Kushner Krime Kartel to take various long and short positions in the Wall Street Casino on things like Aluminum, Steel and all of these seemingly arbitary products. Just look at the amount they made on all of those TACO Tuesdays with Iran, followed by rants to nuke’em. It’s true that Pelsosi and her crew were quite adept and this kind of racketeering but Team Trumpenstein puts them all to shame. Truly the G-O-A-T.

    • Rebel Roy, in a perfect ethnostate women shouldn’t vote, but in our current situation you should save your anger for the Yankees and not Southern women. Southern white women voted for Trump in pretty much the same percentages as Southern white men. Yankee white men certainly did NOT. Hunter and I broke down the voting data and looked at it after the last election. We wrote an article on it.

  11. This man is a never ending disaster. I understand the people who believed in him at first; like so many others abroad, I believed he could truly change things, even on a global scale. Unfortunately, his second term proved the opposite. He’s no different from the neocons of the past—in fact, I don’t know if he’s done even worse.

  12. Literally all reports are showing that not one single sector that has tariffs has reported increased prices. All have been absorbed by the foreign producer and or exporter. CPI inflation is down to around 3%. Under your party’s last President it was up to 12%. Most of the price increases that you reflect upon are derived from the Biden era. The remainder are related to increase costs related to Putin’s War in Europe or the Mad Mullahs War in the Middle East. Those have impacted chiefly oil and gas and it’s derivatives, especially agriculture or specific food crops. The later are expected to hit Sudan in the next few months so you better come up quick with a plausible reason to blame Jews and Israel for causing a mass migration pattern from there.

  13. Off topic but relevant. Americanism is NOT compatible with Catholicism. The USA was created by Freemasons and was built by Protestants for Protestants. Are American Catholics even Catholics? To ask the question is to answer it. Of course this is also true throughout the world. Are Protestants what they used to be?

  14. The economy grew at a middling 1.5% last quarter(less than expected) while inflation was 3.3%(higher than expected). There were job losses of 23K in July(much lower than expected). All of these numbers show that we are in the midst of a recession. At some point soon the Fed is going to be “forced” to lower interest rates in the middle of a highly inflationary environment which will unleash even more inflation. So now that his pissing match with Iran is temporarily over Trump is pivoting back to his ill-conceived and scattershot tariff wars with whomever he feels has slighted his fragile ego.

      THOSE NUMBERS ARE TRASH !
      They’re zog contrived.

      Saw a news clip, school supplies are up 8% year over year. That’s a good proxy for overall inflation.

      Economic growth is also a fraud. The GDP deflator is rigged, way too low.

      The only real thing that has given America growth in past decades is the fantastic amount of debt. At some point that will cause cataclysmic failure.

  16. Canada exports about 2,2 mm bbl of heavy crude to USA each day. Suppose they embargo some major fraction of that ?
